"No," Wendy stated firmly. "The woman was much older, probably in her late forties or early fifties."
Silence fell over the group.
That was explosive. Based on the age, that woman was definitely not Yates's cousin.
Melody was completely dumbfounded. In her heart, she didn't want to believe that Yates would cheat on her.
Besides, Yates was a catch himself. If he were to look for someone else, why would he choose a woman so much older?
Suddenly, an idea struck Melody. Her panic subsided as she quickly pulled out her phone, found a photo of Yates with a woman, and showed it to Wendy.
"Look, was it this woman?"
The photo showed Yates and a middle-aged woman. They weren't being overly familiar, just smiling happily for the camera.
Wendy recognized her in an instant. She nodded. "Yes, that's her."
Melody let out a huge sigh of relief, patting her chest. "You scared me! I really thought Yates was cheating."
Melody took her phone back and showed the picture to the others.
"This is his aunt. She's very good to him. Actually, Yates comes from a very close family."
Although Yates hadn't formally introduced her to his family yet, he often told her about them.
Wendy realized the woman she'd seen with Yates was his aunt.
Melody had even seen photos of his other aunts. Yates had shown them all to her.
However, Janina and Maggie were skeptical. They trusted Wendy wouldn't have brought it up if it wasn't serious.
Even family should keep a healthy distance. They're all adults, not kids.
