Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 144

The hand holding his phone was clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white.

No man could stomach such an insult.

The humiliation of being so thoroughly cuckolded was overwhelming.

His face was terrifyingly dark.

When he heard Jacqueline and Yates plotting how to drug him, his eyes filled with a mixture of fury and hatred.

Nolan couldn't make sense of it. He didn't have money, he wasn't anyone important. What could Yates possibly want from him? And why go to all this trouble just to drug him?

He couldn't figure it out, and neither could Janina and the others. Nolan was just an ordinary office worker who had never even met Yates. Why would Yates do this?

The only way to find out was to wait for Yates to reveal his hand. So for now, they all kept their eyes glued to their screens, afraid to miss a single crucial detail.

Melody finally understood just how stupid she had been.

Throughout her relationship with Yates, he had always maintained a respectful distance, a rarity for a man in a serious relationship. He had told her he was saving himself for their wedding night, and she'd actually fallen for that noble act of his.

She'd naively thought he was a rare gentleman, a man of integrity. She never imagined her supposedly pure boyfriend was a master player, juggling women left and right.

"Damn it, I'm going to chop up that bastard and that bitch!"

Melody's sudden roar shattered the tense silence.

Her face was a mask of fury, her fists clenched, looking as if she were ready to grab a knife and hunt down Yates and Jacqueline. One was her best friend on set, the other was her boyfriend, and they had conspired to deceive her. How could she possibly let that slide?

Her brother had always been mild-tempered and level-headed, but being cheated on like this was a blow no man could endure.

Fearing Nolan would be at a disadvantage, Janina rushed after him, with Maggie, Melody, and Wendy right on her heels.

They had just stepped out into the hallway when they heard a cry of pain.

"Agh!"

Nolan already had Yates on the floor. A few quick punches had left Yates completely dazed, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

Before Yates could even react, Nolan lifted his foot and kicked him squarely in the chest.
