Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 238

Her knees gave out, and all her strength finally left her as she crumpled to the ground.

Half an hour later, inside the operating room.

"She's hemorrhaging. Uterine atony. The patient needs an immediate blood transfusion," the doctor said with a grave expression, directing the nurse beside him.

The nurse quickly handed him hemostatic forceps, and the doctor worked to stop the bleeding.

"Contact the blood bank! We need at least 2000ml of Type O blood!"

"Patient's hemoglobin has dropped to 5 g/dL!"

"The patient is in critical condition! Notify the family!"

Outside the operating room, the Holt family, except for Nolan and Seven, stared anxiously at the closed doors.

Maggie, Melody, and Wendy Clifford paced restlessly, their eyes glued to the entrance.

After the family was notified of her critical condition for the second time, Grace fell to her knees, pressing her hands together in prayer, begging for her daughter's safety.

She had never been religious, but now, she didn't know what else to do.

...

When she woke up, the first thing Janina noticed were several IV bags hanging by her bed.

For a moment, she was disoriented.

She instinctively tried to touch her abdomen but found she could barely move. The pain throughout her body reminded her that she was in a hospital.

Her gaze shifted, and she saw several faces looming over her.

"Nina, you're awake!"

"Nina... you scared us to death. You're finally awake..."

Seeing so many people who cared about her warmed Janina's heart.

Suddenly, she remembered what happened at New Vista Medical Center. She started talking again, her voice still faint, and went through everything step by step from when she'd left the burger joint.

Hearing about Janina's ordeal, everyone was furious.

Maggie rolled up her sleeves, her face murderous, and cursed, "If Yvonne had anything to do with this, I swear I'll break her legs."

The Holt brothers were equally enraged. To dare to harm their sister was to ask for death.

But upon reflection, the whole situation was bizarre.

"I'll explain this to the police. I'm sure we'll get answers soon," Maggie said. When Janina had sent the distress message, they had immediately called the police, who had already begun an investigation into New Vista Medical Center.

Whether Yvonne was behind it all still needed to be confirmed.

"You can start with that doctor," Janina added. "A few months ago, during a checkup, I saw that same male doctor at Mercy General laughing and talking with Yvonne and Silvia. I assumed he was a doctor there, but then he showed up at New Vista."
