Just as the standoff reached its peak, the hospital room door swung open.

It was Maggie.

For Janina, she was a savior. For Julius, she was a scowl waiting to happen. A major reason he hadn't wanted Janina to work was to keep her away from her college roommates, especially Maggie. The woman was fierce, more than a match for any man, and he despised her.

Maggie already knew what had happened.

Janina had sent the video of Yvonne's fall to their group chat last night, so they had all seen it. Twenty minutes ago, she'd received Janina's text asking her to call the police, along with the hospital location. Her heart had dropped, sensing Janina was in trouble. She'd left her office immediately and sped over.

She arrived furious. Seeing her friend being bullied by this cheating pair sent her into a rage.

Maggie pulled Janina behind her and fixed Julius with a glare. "Are you blind or just stupid? How did the Aurelius family manage to produce a piece of crap like you?"

She pointed a finger at Yvonne but kept her eyes locked on Julius. "This bitch plays her little games to frame Janina." Her finger swung toward Julius. "And you help a mistress attack your own wife. Are you even a man? God gave you a dick, but not so you could go spreading your seed everywhere. If you want to protect this bitch, then stay the hell away from Janina."

Both Julius and Yvonne flinched, their chests tight with indignation. No one had ever spoken to them like that.

Before Julius could explode, Yvonne spoke up, her voice trembling.

Sobbing, Yvonne threw back the covers and tried to get up.

Julius rushed to her side, holding her tightly. "Yvonne, you just had surgery, you can't move. Shh, don't be upset. Let me handle this, okay?"

Watching their unabashedly intimate display, Maggie finally understood why Janina was so determined to divorce him, even after nearly eleven years of devotion.

Maggie pulled Janina into a nearby chair and said coolly, "If you want to die, I suggest the rooftop. This is only the third floor. You'll just end up disabled, not dead."

"You…" Julius's teeth were chattering with rage. If it had been any other woman, he would have already taught her a lesson. But he was slightly wary of Maggie. He'd heard she practiced Muay Thai and that most men were no match for her.
