Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 44

Julius took a few steps, then turned back, his anger replaced by a smirk.

"Fine. If you want me to finalize the divorce, then go home right now and cook for me. Consider it our last farewell dinner."

He emphasized the last two words.

Janina didn't want to go back. She had already moved out and wanted nothing more to do with him. She refused flatly.

"No. We've already signed the agreement. I'm not your wife anymore. And a farewell dinner is completely unnecessary."

Violence flashed in Julius's eyes. He spoke, enunciating every word.

"You have one minute. Get in the car. Otherwise, you can forget about finalizing this divorce. Without that, you are still my wife. And even in death, you'll still be an Aurelius!"

Just then, Assistant Wallace pulled the car up in front of them. Julius got in first.

Hearing his resolute words, Janina struggled internally for a moment, then grit her teeth and got into the car.

Damn it. This was a threat, and she knew Julius was more than capable of following through.

Fine!

It was just cooking a meal. She'd done it for him for years; one more wouldn't kill her.

Janina pulled the car door open and slid inside.

The atmosphere in the car was heavy. None of the three spoke.

Janina took out her phone and messaged The Graces' Chat about Julius signing the papers.

Maggie replied instantly.

[Holy crap, he finally signed! Congrats on your new life, Nina!]

Wendy chimed in.

[Happy divorce! We should go out tonight to celebrate Nina escaping that scumbag.]

Maggie: [Yes! Hot pot again? We need something festive.]

Melody: [Sounds good. We'll get a split pot. Nina needs to eat something mild.]

But Janina pulled away first, glaring at him defensively. "It was just a joke. Don't take it so seriously."

Julius sensed her resistance and frowned, annoyed. Just as he was about to speak, his phone rang.

He didn't know what the other person said, but his face suddenly turned as dark as a storm cloud.

"Get out. You can get a ride home yourself," Julius informed her coldly, then said to Wayne, "Pull over."

Wayne stopped the car by the side of the road.

A thousand curses ran through Janina's mind. She looked outside.

They were on the outskirts of the city, on a sparsely populated road with very little traffic.

He was really just going to leave her here. She suppressed her anger and looked at Julius.

"The least you could do is drop me off downtown!"

Julius's voice was sharp with impatience. "It's out of the way. Yvonne is having an episode, and she's waiting for me to pick her up. Get out of the car, now."
