Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 440

Wendy was somewhat distracted. She had been serious about this relationship and had invested her heart in it.

It was her first real relationship, and she cherished it.

But she wasn't willing to compromise her own well-being. A love that required that would be tainted.

"If you ask me, make a clean break. If you realize a guy's no good, drop him immediately. Look at Nina—after she got married, that scumbag was obsessed with 'the one that got away.' Isn't that infuriating? She wasted her youth, time, and energy on someone who wasn't worth it. There's no point in clinging to a low-quality relationship. A woman can live a great life without a man."

Maggie tapped her fingers on the table and continued, "If you have feelings for him, you can give him one chance. But I'm not trying to be a downer—men who are that arrogant and insecure rarely change for anyone."

With a sigh, Maggie added, "If anything happens, just talk to us. Don't let yourself be mistreated."

Maggie was afraid Finch would bully Wendy.

"Enough about men. The holidays are coming up. Any plans for the break?" Janina said, trying to lighten the heavy atmosphere.

It was less than two months until the new year. Liam and Joy would be a bit older by then, and her parents wanted to go back to their hometown for the holidays this year.

Their whole family would probably spend the holidays there.

At the mention of the holidays, Melody leaned back in her chair.

"I don't even know how long of a break the film crew will get. The holidays don't mean much to me, and I can't travel far anyway."

Maggie chimed in, "Visiting relatives during the holidays is exhausting. I'm planning on just lying around like a zombie at home. Not going anywhere. That way, I can avoid being hounded about getting married. It's so annoying."

Maggie's biggest headache was probably her parents.

She had no intention of ever getting married, but she was an only child, and her parents' generation held very traditional views.

They saw marriage and having children as a mandatory life task.

Melody suddenly had a bright idea. "You could rent a boyfriend to take home! It's just to appease your family for a bit."

Maggie rolled her eyes. "Forget renting. I'd have to pay for it, and it's not about the money. It just seems pointless. I rent one this year, then what about next year? I can't rent one every year!"

Wendy suggested, "Then just tell your parents what you really think. That way they won't keep nagging you."

Maggie waved her hand dismissively. "It's no use. They're too old-fashioned."

Janina could relate. In the Holt family, her four older brothers were still single, which made her parents very anxious, even if they didn't show it.

One of the main reasons they were going back to their hometown for the holidays this year was to arrange blind dates for the four of them.

During the holidays, all the young women who worked in the city would be back home.
