"Who's your wife? We're not married yet," Wendy said, her face flushing red at his words. Although she had accepted Finch's proposal, she intended to put him on probation for a while. Following her friends' advice, she decided they wouldn't live together before the wedding.
That evening, Wendy dropped a photo of her hand, now adorned with the diamond ring, into The Graces' Chat. She added the caption: [Finch proposed.] The chat immediately blew up.
Janina: [Whoa, that was fast. Did you guys resolve your issues?] She knew that if two people weren't on the same wavelength, even the best relationship would be hard to maintain. That's why she didn't offer congratulations right away.
Maggie sent a wide-eyed-surprise emoji. [You two talked it out? And you said yes?] Melody: [A proposal isn't a marriage. Use this time to really observe him. Don't just give in to him on everything.]
Wendy: [I accepted the proposal, but not marriage yet. Don't worry, this is his probationary period. If he passes, we'll get the license. If not, we'll go our separate ways.]
Janina was in the living room with her family, playing with Liam and Joy. When she saw Wendy's message, she wasn't sure how to reply. Noticing her strange expression, Natalie asked, "What's wrong, Janina?"
Janina managed a smile. "Wendy's boyfriend proposed to her." "Wow, that's great news! Isn't his name Finch? He seemed pretty nice and easy to talk to. They make a good couple," Natalie said honestly. She had met Finch at a dinner once. Finch certainly made a good first impression, so it was no surprise Natalie would say that.
In early January, a light snow began to fall over Clayborne City. The cold wind was sharp enough to sting your face. By the time Janina left work, it was already dark. She had been going to the office on time every day, not daring to miss a single one. Meridian Studio was still new, and she had to handle many things personally.
After work that day, Janina had arranged to go shopping with Wendy. They also planned to check out a photo studio, as the four friends wanted to do a photoshoot together before Wendy's wedding. They had decided they would do one every ten years.
Maggie was working overtime, and Melody was stuck on set, so the task of finding a studio fell to Janina and Wendy. Since it was close by, they decided to grab a quick bite at The Tasting Room. After they ate, they were about to head to the mall when Wendy's phone rang. She answered it and was met with the panicked, sobbing voice of Mrs. Clifford.
