Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 47

Yvonne didn't know exactly what Julius meant, but she knew the 'she' he was talking about was Janina.

Hearing Julius mention that bitch's name completely ruined her mood.

She didn't want to hear that woman's name come out of his mouth.

Since Julius couldn't make a decision, she would help him.

A calculating glint appeared in Yvonne's eyes as she leaned closer to him.

"Julius, will you stay with me tonight?"

Perhaps it was the alcohol, but Yvonne's flushed cheeks gave her an added allure. She already had a face that was both innocent and seductive, and now she looked even more captivating.

Julius's Adam's apple bobbed. The scent from her body sent a wave of heat through him, but then the memory of Janina slapping him and kicking his shin flashed through his mind.

He sobered up slightly.

He leaned back a little, putting some distance between them.

"It's late. You should get some rest," Julius said, standing up and grabbing his jacket from the sofa.

"Julius, I'm scared to be alone. Please, just stay?"

Yvonne wrapped her arms around his waist, her slender fingers tracing his chest as her intoxicating, desire-filled eyes locked onto his.

"I, I have something to do. I have to go. You should get some sleep," he explained softly, then practically fled the apartment.

Yvonne watched his retreating back, her hands slowly clenching into fists. The drunken haze in her eyes cleared, leaving only an icy chill.

She hadn't drunk much tonight. She had just spilled some alcohol on herself to pretend to be drunk, hoping to get him intoxicated so that something would naturally happen between them.

But Julius hadn't fallen for it. At the critical moment, he had run away.

She couldn't believe it. Was she not charming enough?

When Silvia saw her daughter's call, she knew the plan had failed. She answered the phone with a scolding tone.

"How many times has it been? Still no success? You had him drunk tonight, how could you let him get away?"

Yvonne put the phone on speaker, wearily massaging her temples, a hint of resentment in her eyes.

"Mom, Julius is a very self-controlled man. I can't just force him, can I? What if he suspects something? He's still a married man, after all. I can't rush things."

Silvia rolled her eyes, mentally cursing her daughter for being incompetent. If it had been her in her younger days, no man would have escaped her grasp.

"It's been almost two months! Didn't you say Julius has no feelings for Janina? You should have listened to me from the start. If you had just put something in his drink, this would have been settled long ago."

Yvonne propped her chin on her hand.

She had considered her mother's advice to drug Julius's drink, but she was afraid he would find out. The incident on the stairs had already created a rift between them. If he discovered she had drugged him, all her efforts over the past few weeks would be wasted.

Besides, she had been confident in her own charm. She believed that under the influence of alcohol, Julius would surely succumb to her. But instead...
