Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 57

With that, Yvonne left the living room.

The moment she turned, her eyes turned cold.

It seemed Julius wasn't too happy about what happened last night. Why did he have that expression on his face?

How could he treat her like this!

No!

It must be because he felt he had hurt her without her consent. His displeasure stemmed from self-blame, not from having slept with her.

Yes, that had to be it.

Julius loved her so much. He had even married Janina out of spite. It was impossible for him to have fallen for that bitch.

Yvonne tried to console herself, unwilling to admit the truth that Julius had fallen in love with Janina.

She preferred to believe that he had simply grown accustomed to having Janina by his side all these years.

Janina was an imposter from the very beginning. She was the rightful one.

Now that she was back by Julius's side, the imposter naturally had to leave. Only she was worthy of Julius.

What was Janina, anyway?

Janina was nothing compared to her.

She would take back everything that rightfully belonged to her.

Julius stared after Yvonne, a wave of irritation washing over him.

Looking at the five missed calls on his screen, he felt an overwhelming urge to run away.

Ten minutes later.

Yvonne emerged, dressed in a silk nightgown, carrying a bowl of porridge she had brought from the kitchen herself.

The maids had already prepared breakfast. She had dismissed them and poured the remaining liquid from last night's vial into the bowl.

She had intended to save the rest of the drug for another time, but after seeing Julius's expression, she realized he wasn't exactly thrilled.

If that was the case, she would make him beg for her while he was fully conscious.

"Officers, what is this..." Yvonne's eyes widened, and she was so nervous she could barely speak.

Her mind raced, replaying every bad thing she had ever done.

She had certainly done her fair share of bad deeds, but she hadn't killed anyone or committed arson. Her heart pounded in her chest. Had the police found out about her past misdeeds?

One of the officers, his face stern, showed his badge and said grimly, "We received a report of illicit activities being conducted in this residence. Please come with us."

By now, Julius had collected himself. He walked to the door and immediately tried to explain.

"Officers, there must be a mistake. This is my house."

The officer turned to the security guard with them. "Do you recognize him?"

The guard was new and worked the day shift. He had never seen Julius before. The guard shook his head.

"This apartment belongs to a Miss Holt. I don't recognize this gentleman or this lady."

The registered contact for the property was Janina. Julius had bought the apartment and given it to her as a gift.
