Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 59

Janina nodded, giving the female officer a grateful look.

Then, she turned to Julius, her face a mask of disappointment.

"If you want to marry her, I'll grant you your wish. But you can't do it behind my back... Since it's come to this, there's nothing more to say. Miss Moore shouldn't have to be with you without a proper title. Let's go to city hall right now and get a divorce. That way, you can bring her home openly."

Her voice was choked with emotion, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears, her expression one of restrained endurance.

Janina's words stung Julius and enraged everyone else in the room, except for Yvonne.

The officer holding the pen, thinking it was a domestic dispute, was about to have them sign a reconciliation form.

Now, he held the pen awkwardly, not sure whether to offer it or not.

All eyes were fixed on Julius and Yvonne with contempt.

The female officer, in particular, couldn't hide the scorn in her eyes. She hated home-wreckers.

Her own ex-husband had cheated on her, which led to their divorce.

In her mind, she was vehemently cursing the adulterous pair.

"Divorce! They must get a divorce", the female officer thought. "Even if he were the last man on Earth, she should still divorce him."

Julius's expression froze, the atmosphere around him turning icy. His dark eyes were fixed on Janina.

"We can talk about this when we get home."

It was obvious there was no conviction in his voice.

"Everyone else thought: So he's planning to go home and beg for forgiveness. Pfft! Scumbag!"

Janina sneered internally.

No matter what Julius said, she was getting divorced today.

She had called the police for the sole purpose of bringing this out into the open, forcing Julius into a corner where he couldn't refuse.

Without a word, Janina took out her phone and showed the photos Yvonne had sent her to everyone present.

She was the truly shameless one here!

Julius closed his eyes, unable to look any longer. He didn't need to guess who had sent those photos to Janina.

But why would Yvonne do that?

"Miss Moore, when you were sending me these photos, did you think about privacy? Did you think about shame?" Janina's cold gaze bore into her.

Yvonne was rendered speechless, finally mumbling weakly, "I didn't send them to you."

Janina almost laughed out loud, but she didn't want to get sidetracked by such a pointless argument. Her goal today was the divorce.

Her gaze shifted to the man. "Julius, let's go. We're going to get our divorce certificate now."

Julius was at a loss for words. He had been backed into a corner with no way out, but he still wouldn't go to city hall.

At the stalemate, one of the officers offered a few words of mediation and then let them go.

Julius breathed a sigh of relief. He had been desperate to get out of the police station. He had never been so humiliated in his life.
