Before Wayne could say anything, Julius told him to take Yvonne home first.

Wayne paused for a beat—then it hit him.

"Oh my god, did the boss get caught in bed with Miss Moore by Janina? And it ended up at the police station?"

This was some major gossip.

But he didn't dare to pry. He followed his boss's orders and quickly escorted Yvonne to the car.

Before getting in, Yvonne looked at Julius with tear-filled eyes, but he didn't even spare her a glance.

Defeated, she didn't dare to provoke him further at this critical juncture and got into the car with Wayne.

After they left, Janina ordered a ride-share on her phone, ready to head to city hall.

Julius approached her, attempting to explain. "Janina, listen to me. I was drunk last night, I didn't know..."

"Stop. I don't want to hear any of your explanations. What's the point of explaining now?"

Before Julius could finish, Janina held up a hand, cutting him off.

Julius ran his hands through his hair in frustration. "I'm not trying to make excuses. I promise you, I'll keep my distance from her from now on. No one will ever threaten your position as Mrs. Aurelius. Can you please stop this drama?"

Janina looked at Julius as if he were an idiot. Her tone was laced with sarcasm. "Drama? Ha. Julius, how confident are you in yourself? You left me alone on Mourning Lane without a second thought, all to be with your lover. Did you ever consider my situation?"

"If I continue to live with you, I'm afraid I'll meet an untimely end one day. Besides, you should be taking responsibility for Yvonne. Don't break her heart."

Hearing Janina say this, Julius instantly flew into a rage.

So, from now on, she was going to live life on her own terms.

When Julius heard Janina call him a moron and throw sarcastic remarks at him, and still bring up divorce with such an indifferent attitude, as if she couldn't wait to push him away...
