Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 609

Listening from the doorway, Janina's heart tightened.

Elena had told Yvonne, “Julius is just a stepping stone for you. You can't get emotionally attached. Don’t let your romantic feelings ruin our plan. Sometimes, you have to endure.”

What did Elena mean?

What kind of plan did they have?

Elena was Julius’s mother. Janina knew very well how much she doted on him.

But now, a mother was teaming up with an outsider and saying such things about her own son. It made no sense.

From Elena’s perspective, she should be protecting Julius. But from the sound of it, she was treating Yvonne like her own daughter, while Julius was just an insignificant stranger.

To hear more clearly, Janina pressed her ear against the door, while Queenie stood a few feet away, keeping watch.

Just then, they heard Yvonne’s emotional voice again.

“Damaris beat me, and now she’s dead. It’s like heaven has avenged me. But Julius nearly killed me, and he won’t even acknowledge our child. How am I supposed to tolerate that? He ruined my face. I can never show it in public again. What am I supposed to do? Tell me, how am I supposed to endure this?”

Elena didn't get angry at Yvonne’s outburst. Instead, her face was filled with sympathy.

She sat on the edge of the bed, her voice softening as she comforted her.

“Yvonne, stop being difficult. Once this blows over, I promise I will get revenge for you. As for your face, don’t worry. I’ve already hired the best doctors to help you heal the scars.”

Elena’s tone was remarkably gentle.

But her words, “stop being difficult,” grated on Yvonne’s ears, leaving a bitter taste.

In less than a month, she had been brutally beaten twice, once assaulted and the other time disfigured.

And Elena was dismissively telling her she was being difficult.

All she wanted was justice for herself. How was that being difficult?

It was clear. Elena still couldn’t bring herself to be harsh with Julius.

He said Farmer was back at work.

Back at his post as Elena’s driver.

Janina’s lips curled into a cold smile. His wife had just been buried, and he was already eager to get back to work. At the scene, Farmer had knelt before Damaris’s body, weeping. It all seemed so fake.

A man who didn’t love his wife, putting on a show of deep affection for everyone to see.

How disgusting.

Wendy Clifford, noticing Janina looked listless, handed her a glass of water.

“You need to take care of yourself. I heard from Queenie that you had a nightmare last night. Look at you, you’ve gotten so thin lately.”

Janina took a sip of the warm water, frowning slightly as she recounted the dream she’d had.

“I dreamed that Damaris told me to leave, to take the children and get far away. Then she stood on a rooftop and set herself on fire. She looked so terrifying.”
