“This is your mate’s best friend, right? You want to keep her alive? Her other friend Jeff told me about dear Kelcey and how she means a lot to Vareesa. Beautiful Vareesa.” The man taunted, bright blue eyes shining with mirth as he dragged a shuddering Kelcey off the couch, his hand on her neck, taking her to the balcony where she dangled off the edge. “Take one step closer and she plummets to her death and you fail your mate all over again.”
Change of plans.’ I growled to Benedict. ‘Get ready.’
“I will give you the girl if you let me walk away from here.” He negotiated, knowing he wouldn’t ever win a fight with me. “You’ve already ruined all my hard work. You’ve already taken everything from me.”
“Everything?” I managed to say through gritted teeth. This was everything to him? What of the people? He didn’t even ask to save his people. Not his daughter or his sister. He only wants to save himself. “You think this is everything?”
Smart, calculating eyes looked me up and down before realization settled and he knew. “You’re just a poor farm boy, aren’t you? The nameless Alpha that has been ruining everything and causing us trouble was just some farm boy that is throwing a tantrum? How disappointing. You’re no one special. I thought you were better. Not some one.”
His disgust was palpable.
“I must have killed your family and destroyed your lands?” He laughed, mockingly, genuinely happy about this. “Is that all? Is that what this is all for? Some farm pack that we slaughtered? You’re all scum. Sad little things. You should know this already. We’ve killed millions of you and I will gladly kill more.”
‘Benedict?’ I whispered, a blinding rage nearly consuming all of me.
‘Ready.’ My Beta spoke.
The city pack Alpha stood tall and proud, no longer afraid of me. “After I get rid of you, I’m going to take your mate and I’m going to fuck her on top of your dead body, do you hear me?”
‘Now!’ I commanded, shifting in midair as I leapt forward, running towards him.
The surprise and outrage in the Alpha’s face was clear as day. Clearly, the real monster did not expect me to run at him with Kelcey still dangling over the balcony, threatening to drop her this high up. He turned to the rest of his guards expectantly and several things happened simultaneously:
First, my warriors that surrounded me went running at his guards, ripping them to shreds and leaving them as mere pieces of flesh. It only took seconds.
Second, the city Alpha lets go of his hold on Kelcey, dropping Kelcey to her doom, but before he can do so, Andrew falls from the balcony above, landing right next to him as Andrew immediately grabs for Kelcey before she can pummel to her death. Andrew yanked her back, bringing her safely inside, wrapping her in whatever cover he found as she shook in his
arms.
Lastly, Benedict drops from above as well, carrying pieces of Odette as he shoves it down the Alpha’s mouth.
“You sick fuck.” Benedict was shaking, his knees rattling as he blinked back tears. “You ruined us all.”
The Alpha sputters out his daughter from his mouth, grabbing Benedict by the neck and choking my Beta. “You’ve always been a disgrace. I should have carved you out of your mother when I had the chance.”
Islam against the city pack Alpha, throwing us to the glass floor, skidding to the edge of the glass railing.
“Got I’ve got him. Make sure Vareesa is okay. I shouted through the mind link, standing from my crouched position as I

stared down at the Alpha that had already shifted.
He was a white wolf, similar to Benedict’s, but he was bigger, his body exuding the power and experience of a man who spent his entire life fighting as well. This wasn’t just some rich man that let people fight for him. He was a Beta in his time and he protected his lands well. He smiled, teeth sharp and biting. He was confident.
For why should he fear a one?
The cruelty of his smile made me remember the wolves from the night I lost everything. He was there.
I know he was.
The glass floors we stood on were smudged with blood… of body parts that my men had ripped apart. They were gone now.
It was just us.
Alpha to Alpha.
My face, my muzzle was dripping with blood, of gore, of horrors. I have waited for this my whole life.
He attacks first. His body crashed against mine with a surprising force but I did not let this move me, standing tall as I aimed for his neck, his face. The meteor of my rage is evident to him and he soon gets to taste how much I have prepared my for this moment.
Locked in a battle of teeth and claws, it did not last long. He expected me to slow like he did, he expected me to take a second to breathe, to stop when he managed to take a bite of me… but nothing stops me.
No pain could be felt through this fury and hate.
He was getting cornered, his face contorted with agony and focus, putting all his strength and effort in keeping up with my
blows.
The Alpha didn’t understand that I was a monster too, a monster of his creation and I was fighting at the edge… the very edge of my sanity.
He is gathering himself, preparing for one final push against me. Desperate and out of breath, overwhelmed by the storm. that came at him over and over and over.
My breathing was harsh, my face twisted as I let the last of my control go and I was on top of him, my paw pressing down on his neck as I shifted into my human form, holding him down while the wolf shuddered and shook, fighting against my hold.
I was bleeding too, my muscles tight with strain, but I have lived with being tired and hungry and weak, at near death all my life, nothing was stopping me now.
Knowing he has lost, the man that caused all of us pain and suffering shifts into his human form as well.
“W-who are you?” He choked, breath caught in his throat.
“A boy you shouldn’t have kept alive.” It would have been too easy to kill him, too easy to squeeze the last of his life with my fingers, but he didn’t deserve an easy death.
I forcefully turned his face to the ruins of his land, making him watch as everything he had worked for fell, building by building. We were high above the sky, a full view of this world. And I know this scars him. He didn’t care about anyone else. He was right. He did not have any weaknesses… except the pack he took from his Alpha and worked hard to build.
