Penny managed herself out of bed. She had no idea what was happening since she had taken the tea Osvaldo had given her. It had been so tasty and now she felt so sick.
As she walked into the bathroom, she immediately started vomiting.
She had no idea why she was feeling this sick. She would have to get some drugs or maybe tell Osvaldo about it.
Over at the lab,
"What does this herb do?" Hughes asked her master calmly as she watched him mix other chemicals.
"Enhances the symptoms of pregnancy. If she weren’t pregnant, it would have done nothing to her." Osvaldo said calmly not bothering to look at her.
"And this one master?" Hughes pointed at the golden coloured substance in a glass jar.
"It’s more than effective for destroying the child and rupturing her womb. But it would hurt my penguin so I wouldn’t use it first. We need something that can eliminate the bastard and then rupture her womb slowly.
That is why this one is more effective for it." Osvaldo rolled the green substance out of another jar and Hughes nodded.
She was taking note of them all to know which one to give her Miss Penny.
"Instruct the maids to take them to the mansion. That is where my Penguin and I will be living from now on." Hughes’ eyes turned wide.
Osvaldo was isolating her Miss Penny from the rest of them so that he could kill her slowly. Her master was truly crazy, this was insane.
Just to confirm his words, "Is it just the two of you?" Hughes asked to see him nod.
"I don’t need distractions when I work on her." He said calmly.
Hughes almost cried watching him. This man used to be her little boy. A happy kid who used science to help people just like his father. But over the years, he had gotten so dark. He was evil and heartless.
At the moment, Hughes felt like there were really no words to describe the man before her.
"Yes, master." She bowed gently. She knew she needed to get Penny out of there, but how? How does she convince Penny that the man she loves and trusts isn’t all she thinks he is?
Penny was in love with Osvaldo. A woman in love never listens.
The door to the lab suddenly opened with Penelope walking in. She looked even paler and weaker due to the excess vomiting.
"Osvaldo, I don’t know what’s wrong with me." Penny reached out to him and the demon didn’t hesitate to hug her, pulling her close.
Hughes couldn’t understand why her worst enemy was her greatest saviour. Osvaldo’s definition of love was truly strange and she wouldn’t let him destroy Penelope. She’s been through so much already. At least even though he wants to ruin her, she should know about it.
"How do you feel?" Osvaldo asked calmly.
Barnaby stepped in and walked over to where his master and madam sat.
"Are you alright Miss Penny?" His eyes shifted to the different liquid on the table and then to Hughes who stood at a corner, her hands and feet vibrating. She laid her hair down for the first time since he’s known her, probably to hide the mark on her face.
"I feel sick, but I’ll be fine," Penny said calmly.
"Thank you." She added.
"Alright. Master, the Adkins lawyers are here to see you." Barnaby announced.
"Tell them I’m caring for my Penguin, they can come back tomorrow." Osvaldo waved him off.
"I’m fine Osvaldo, you can go to them," Penny said calmly.
"Hughes can take me back to the bedroom. I’ll be fine once I rest." Penny smiled.
"M... Miss Penny, why doesn’t Barnaby take you to your room, I still have this lab to clean." Hughes laughed at her words.
"Take her to the bedroom Hughes. Come with me, Barnaby." Osvaldo suddenly said then he turned to his Penguin.
"I’ll be back before you know it." He pressed his lips on her forehead, eyes moving to his housekeeper giving a silent warning before stepping out.
"You’re a bit strange today Hughes, did you change your hair?" Penny asked Hughes who said nothing.
"How are you feeling Miss Penny?" She asked. It’s quite unfortunate that she could do little to help Penny. Hughes felt so useless for the first time in years.
