CHAPTER FORTY–FOUR
DAMON’S POV
Three cold baths later and I still couldn’t get the image of her out of my head.
She had no idea I was punishing myself as well.
If I had stayed a second more, I’d have taken her on the bed, right there and then, without a second thought. She was the most perfect human ever to exist.
The sight of her cuffed for me, nipples clamped, soaked and trembling…
Fuck.
It was burned into my skull.
The little sounds she made, the way her body twitched every time the clamps buzzed, the way she lifted her hips when I touched
her-
I gripped the edge of the sink and forced myself to breathe.
She wanted more. She begged for more. And that… that nearly broke me.
I stared at my reflection in the bathroom mirror. My jaw was tight, my eyes darker than usual, and my chest still rising and falling like I had run miles.
She did that to me.
She pushed every boundary I spent years building.
I dragged a hand through my hair.
She trusted me and that was the problem. She trusted me too much and I knew I wasn’t deserving of that.
“More… please,” she had said, her voice cracked, her body shaking, and her eyes wet.
No one had ever said that to me before. Not like that. Not with that kind of surrender. Not with that kind of vulnerability.
I was worried she’d be horrified by the idea of being restrained and teased but she proved me wrong yet again.
I swallowed hard.
I left before I ruined her, that was the truth. Because if I had stayed, I wouldn’t have just punished her. I would have fucked her senseless until the word she remembers was my name.
I walked into the closet and put on my suit as quickly as I could. I needed to get out of the house as soon as possible.
I walked down the stairs to find her there, already dressed but still applying her lipstick.
Her red lipstick.
Christ, I had to think of the worst moments of my life to make the bulge in my pants go down. But when she turned around, even Chri those memories couldn’t help.
She wore a simple white dress but there was nothing simple about her accentuated cleavage.
“Damon, help me with my zipper,” she said with those delicious–looking red lips.
She turned around so I’d help her and when I stepped closer, the scent of vanilla clouded my senses.
I knew what I’d be doing in the shower with her perfume tonight. I pulled up her zipper and stepped back as fast as I could.

“Thank you,” she said in that sweet voice of hers.
Fuck.
I cleared my throat. “We should go.”
I didn’t wait for her response before walking into the elevator. When she stepped in beside me I had to hold my breath and look anywhere but at her or her reflection.
I got into the driver’s seat after opening the passenger door for her. She sent a smile my way that made my heart squeeze.
Yeah, something had to be wrong with me. I made a mental note to see the doctor again.
“You look beautiful,” I said as I started the ignition.
She turned to me. “And you look dashing.”
“Thank you, daddy,” Lila smiled at me, her round cheeks puffy.
She excitedly took her gifts and ran off to the kids‘ section to show her friends.
Gabrielle was sitting beside me, drinking a lot more than usual. She waved at the server again for another glass.
“That’s your sixth glass,” I whispered, already missing her yaps.
She eyed me. “I don’t know anyone here and you’re not talking to me. At least, they keep me occupied.”
The server returned just then and proudly displayed a bottle of Chianti with a handwritten label. Gabrielle smiled as he opened the bottle and poured it into her glass.
I watched, almost breathless, as she swirled the wine in her glass expertly, then lifted it so she could examine it more closely in
the dim light.
She brought the glass to her nose, closed her eyes, and sniffed. Then she placed the glass to her plump lips and tasted the wine, holding it in her mouth for a while before swallowing.
I had spent all night just watching her drink and it was the most entertaining thing I had experienced all night.
She opened her eyes, smiled even more widely, and thanked the server for the wine. “Thank you. Where have you been keeping this?”
The server smiled. “In the back, Miss. I reserved the best for the best.”
Her cheeks flushed a dull red and my fist tightened on the table. Only I had the right to make her blush.
Meanwhile, I’d been adjusting myself under the table because the sight of her tasting wine coupled with the memories from earlier was the most erotic thing I’d witnessed.
I watched as the server’s hand brushed hers when pouring another glass and a low growl almost escaped me. Some primitive and feral erupted inside of me.
I wanted to interrupt their little conversation and rip the tongue and hands from the server’s body. I wanted to carry Gabrielle off, kiss her senseless, and take her right there on the table.
I stood and took the bottle from him. “That’s enough. I’ll serve my wife.”
Surprise flashed in his expression before he bowed and walked away.
“I was enjoying talking to him,” Gabrielle slurred.

She was already tipsy.
“Talk to me instead,” I answered, leaning closer and taking a whiff of her scent to calm my temper. “I’m a much better company.”
She rolled her sexy eyes. “I keep saying how delusional you are but you never believe me.”
For a second, the party disappeared. All I could see was her flushed cheeks, her wine–stained lips, and her sassiness that made my chest ache and my cock twitch.
