Accidentally Pregnant By My Alpha Best friends (Madeline) novel Chapter 702

Ron:

Life was no longer the same.

There were moments when I wanted to find a purpose in my life.

The only one I had so far was getting justice for Yuvonne and Madeline.

Other than that, whenever I sat in my room, I felt like the world had ended around me.

I would remember Yuvonne's giggle as if she were still there with me.

But she wasn't. She was gone forever.

Those brutal people had stolen her from me.

"Oh my God. You can't be serious."

The door swung open, and the annoying voice reached me before I even saw who it was.

It was Nala.

I had no clue what kind of princess she was, because she certainly didn't act like one.

She was so fucking annoying, always bothering me, scolding me, or constantly on my back.

"Nala, please, can I have a moment alone?" I requested, hoping she would just walk away.

"No. You're coming out and building the fence with us," she hissed, making me look at her and clench my fists.

"Oh, please don't do that. I'm not afraid of your little tiny fists," said the woman who was barely reaching my chest with the tiniest hands ever.

She placed her hands on her waist and kept staring at me.

"Okay, you know what? If you leave me alone for a moment, I'll come and help you guys with the fence," I said, hoping she would finally go away.

"Um, nope," she replied, making my fists clench even harder this time. "And you know what? There's another stranger here."

Her words made me instantly rise from the bed.

Madeline had gone out again, and that immediately made me uneasy.

It felt wrong because, okay, at first she used to go out for hours, saying she was looking for medicine for Byron.

But now she had no reason to be out there. I mean, not for this long.

"What stranger?" I asked her, and she shrugged.

"I don't know. He was walking toward the cabin, and Madeline was about to leave. So Madeline just told me it was fine and that he could stick around," she replied, watching my face while blinking her eyes innocently.

I stared at her in silence before getting up and marching toward the exit.

She hurried after me with her little steps.

Once I was outside, I recognized him. It was Mathew.

I understood that he had helped us before, but his presence here was kind of not wanted.

"What are you doing here, Mathew?" I asked as I approached him.

He was pretending to help the warriors.

"Yeah, if you'd just let me finish, then I'd tell you this isn't the first time someone has been cursed like this. It's almost as if the well requires a cursed soul," she said. "Once in a while, people become very vicious. They curse an innocent person into becoming this monster. Then the monster lives a very lonely life." she hissed.

"It starts hurting people, but still, somewhere in the back of its mind, it remembers its family. But they're gone now. They either died or grew old and passed away. Then the well decides to replace it, finally putting an end to the monster's misery. That's when more people emerge, targeting a new person. When they curse someone else, the old monster, trust me, probably feels relieved because it finally dies. Its lifelong misery finally comes to an end."

As she continued to speak, both Mathew and I stared up at the monster.

I began to wonder who this monster had been.

If she was saying it had turned only a few years, maybe a decade or two, ago, then that meant its family or loved ones might still have been around.

If so, maybe it still had a long way to go before its misery ended.

Unless somebody decided to curse someone else first.

That thought struck me, and I turned to her.

"How does someone put a curse on another person?"

The moment I asked that question, she frowned at me.

"Save it, dude. I don't know who killed your wife, so you can't curse that person," she said, making me cringe.

But I knew who had killed her.

And if I could get my hands on that person, I could curse them.

None other than Lady Eugenia.

When I looked up again, I found Mathew staring right back at me. It was as if he knew I was planning something.
