Accidentally Pregnant By My Alpha Best friends (Madeline) novel Chapter 736

Baxter:

Then he started explaining his theory that Sawyer was married to Madeline, who was supposedly my wife.

Hearing my wife's name for the first time since I woke up was both confusing and shocking because I didn't fucking remember her.

He told me I had two more children.

I didn't remember them either.

Then he concluded that maybe I had come here looking for them.

But that didn't make any sense because he said they were in the werewolf land.

"Look, I'm confused too," Daniel said after telling me everything he knew.

"Then what the fuck am I doing here? I need to be with my daughter because that fucking stepfather of hers sounds unhinged," I yelled, clenching my fists.

"Well, that's the thing. He has a new wife, but I don't know why he wants his old one back. It's just confusing," Daniel mumbled, only making me even more confused.

"So maybe I was married to Madeline before him, we had children together, then he married her, and then he left her? What the hell is going on?" I grunted, slamming my hand onto the table and shattering it.

Even Daniel looked shocked.

Then his eyes widened behind his glasses.

"No," he uttered in shock. "You have your wolf."

As soon as he said those words, I lunged at him, grabbed him by the arms, and slammed him against the wall.

"Look, I'm not going against you, okay?" he said quickly. "But you have to take wolfbane medication to keep your wolf recessive. Otherwise, you'll get in trouble."

He spoke so fast that the words nearly ran together.

"Werewolfs aren't allowed in the human world. Any kind of monster isn't. Right now, you're a monster in this land. If anyone finds out, they'll have every reason to throw you back into the werewolf land, and then you'll never be able to be with Gina."

Daniel kept talking, so I finally let him go.

The sweat forming on his temples proved he was just as scared and worried as I was.

"Why are we sitting here? What are we waiting for?" I asked, pacing around the tiny underground cabin. The cramped space was honestly suffocating.

"I'm not sure, but I'm worried about Livia. You see, President Sawyer isn't the kind of man you want to mess with."

The emotion in Daniel's voice came out as a whimper, making me turn to him in shock.

"You love her?" I asked.

Daniel immediately lowered his gaze.

"I didn't make it obvious," he mumbled under his breath.

"Well, it's pretty obvious," I replied.

Anything was better than sitting in a fucking bunker, hiding like a coward.

"You think you can do that?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yeah. I mean, I know he's crazy about his wife. I mean— the first one," he mumbled, cracking his knuckles as confusion crossed his face.

"I don't fucking care about his wife. I want my children," I said.

I had already concluded that Madeline and I had probably divorced and fallen out of love.

That was why she had married him.

Whatever was happening between them was their problem.

But my children shouldn't have to suffer because of it.

"Well then, I'll tell him you sent me an anonymous letter or something. We can send him on a wild goose chase while I free Livia and Gina. Then I can arrange a boat for you to–"

He paused, and I noticed tears gathering in his eyes.

"So you, Livia, and Gina can escape. Because this place is no longer safe for you."

I could only imagine how much he had to convince himself that sending Livia away was the right thing to do.

It was a sacrifice he was willing to make to keep her safe.
