Then Sawyer woke up.

Daniel informed me that people had gone a little crazy, just as expected.

As he finished explaining, we both walked out of the hospital room.

Livia was standing in the hallway, her arms folded across her chest and her back resting against the wall.

When she saw us, she smiled brightly and approached.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

I gave her a nod.

"Are you?" I asked in return, noticing Daniel immediately pull out his phone, a frown settling on his face.

"I'm good. The guards retrieved my mother. She was being held in a prison with many other relatives of the people here," she explained, her eyes drifting toward Daniel.

I had no idea what had happened. I'd actually fallen asleep. The claw wound was really painful to deal with.

Like I said, I couldn't transition right now.

"Are you guys headed to see Sawyer?" she asked again, her eyes briefly shifting to Daniel.

I noticed Daniel was completely ignoring her.

It was the complete opposite of how he used to behave around her.

To be honest, I didn't have any complaints.

In fact, I liked it.

Finally, the fool was taking a step for himself.

"Sure," I replied.

Daniel slipped his phone back into his back pocket.

"Should we go?" he asked me without looking at Livia even once.

"Yeah, let's go," Livia commented.

But Daniel acted as if he hadn't even heard her.

"Yeah, let's go," Only after I spoke up, did he start moving.

He took the lead.
