Baxter:
Current Time:
The moment Livia told me that some people had arrived at the mountain top, and that they were none other than my wife and my daughter, I immediately decided to put my name on the presidential ballot.
I had already received quite a few votes from the council members and the people, and everything was being decided within a single day.
I had also decided that Sawyer would be sent to the werewolf land.
I didn't even meet him one last time.
I didn't want to do anything that might trigger him.
He was locked inside a cargo container and transferred onto a ship.
Now that he had been sent to the werewolf land, I was in the human world with my wife and my daughter.
That was when Elara told me everything.
"But, Daddy, you know Bodhi must be so upset. He'll be so lonely over there."
Elara pouted as she pressed two fingers into my cheeks, trying to make dimples.
The moment she mentioned Bodhi, I started worrying too.
One of our children was still completely alone.
His mother was here.
His father was here.
Even his siblings were here.
"Don't worry. We'll bring him here too. Just like we're all reunited now," I assured Elara with a smile.
"We'll never be together like we were before," Elara sighed as she lowered her hands.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Because Gina–"
The moment she said Gina's name, my heart lurched.
It had only been two days since I had visited Gina in the hotel.
She was staying with Livia now.
Today was the day I had decided to bring her home.
I knew it was going to be difficult for Gina, and for everyone else the moment they saw each other.
Besides, Gina still wasn't feeling well.
I wanted to visit her, but Livia had told me she'd suffered another panic attack, something that had been happening repeatedly.
After spending so many months alone and constantly thinking about the monster, her mental state had become fragile.
But I wanted to help her recover completely.
And I knew I would.
"About that," I said to Elara as I gently pinched her cheek.
"I have a surprise for you."
Her eyes widened with excitement.
"What is it? Is it toys?" she asked eagerly and I chuckled.
"Livia," I called, giving her a nod.
She immediately stood and walked toward the guest room.
She had already brought Gina here, but she had fallen asleep.
Under one roof, my family was finally together.
Only one piece was still missing.
