Adopted to Biological? Keep Your Golden Child Scapegoat Out novel Chapter 31

Chapter 2

I looked past her into the room.

The window was wide open. Cold wind poured in.

Sienna’s friend was huddled by the bed. Too terrified to speak.

They were in elementary school. How could they not know it was dangerous?

David stepped forward: “Sienna admitted she was wrong. Honey, you got your anger out. Let’s just… bury him.”

God! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing!

A life was gone, and all she had to do was SAY SORRY??

Monica rushed over. Hugged Sienna. Stroked her face:

“You hit her so hard! Look how red her face is!”

Red?

That baby lost their LIFE, and all she got was a red cheek!

I shoved Monica aside. Grabbed Sienna by the hair and dragged her toward the window:

“You said you didn’t know what would happen? Let’s find out together, huh?”

“No! I’ll die if I fall!” Sienna screamed. Thrashed. “You bad woman! You’ll go to jail! You’ll go to jail!”

So she DID know.

And she still did it.

I couldn’t wrap my head around it-how could a child be this cruel?

Suddenly, pain shot through my arm.

David yanked me backward so hard I slammed headfirst into the wall.

Blood trickled down.

He stood in front of Sienna. Glared at me, coldly.

“Enough! The baby’s dead. Why are you taking it out on a kid? This is on you for not watching him!”

He and Monica formed a wall in front of Sienna.

Chapter 2

Stared me down like I was the enemy.

Yeah, I still had a lot I couldn’t figure out.

But one thing was crystal clear now-

THEY were the real family here. Blood ties and all.

Me and my son? We were nothing to them.

I clutched my forehead. Pulled out my phone with shaking hands and tried to call 911.

David immediately kicked it out of my hand:

“This is a family matter. Why are you calling the cops?!”

“And Sienna’s just a child. It won’t do anything.”

I steadied myself against the wall. Looked at him. Heartbroken:

“That was your son who died. And you’re not going to do anything?”

He glanced at the blood on my forehead.

For a second, he looked sorry.

“Tessa, we can have another baby.”

“But Sienna? She’s my only niece.”

What a great man.

So family-oriented.

I married him because he was loyal and caring to his family.

But I never thought that loyalty would become the knife in my back.

I turned to head downstairs.

But Sienna’s mother, Jenna shoved past me. She shoulder-checked me hard.

She hugged Sienna. Shot me a venomous look.

“How dare you hit my daughter? I don’t even hit her. Who do you think you are?!”

I was shaking. “Why don’t you ask your daughter what she did?”

“Your son died, so now it’s my daughter’s fault?! If anyone’s to blame, it’s your son for being unlucky!”

Chapter 2

I was boiling with rage.

But right now, all I could think about was that baby downstairs.

Who were they?

Why were they even here?

“Jenna, you have a kid too. If it was your child who died today, could you still say that?”

Her eyes widened. She immediately jabbed a finger at me:

“You shameless witch! Your son’s dead, so now you’re cursing mine?”

“You know what?! I’m glad your son’s dead! That brat deserved it!!”

This woman was hopeless.

Not worth my breath.

I grabbed my cracked phone. Headed downstairs.

Monica yelled, “Stop her! She’s calling the cops!”

Jenna scoffed. “So what? Sienna can’t go to jail anyway.”
