After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 195

Aria couldn’t imagine what she had done to deserve such words from Raphael.

After thinking it over, the only reason she could come up with was that he was worried she would make a scene and bring disgrace upon the Evernight family.

“As long as Gideon agrees to an amicable divorce, I won’t cause a scene. You can rest assured.”

It was the only way Aria could think of to repay Raphael.

It was also her final concession and her bottom line.

“That’s not necessary.”

Raphael carried Aria to the OB/GYN department.

“You don’t need to consider your relationship with Gideon on my account. Like I said, you don’t owe me anything.”

Aria barely had the capacity to think anymore.

A nurse, startled to see Aria was still bleeding, quickly arranged for a room.

“What’s going on here?”

“Possible miscarriage. She’s almost a month pregnant and was pushed down. Her blood type is Rh-negative. If she needs a transfusion, let me know immediately, and I’ll arrange it.”

Raphael explained to the doctor who had hurried over, his gaze shifting to Aria.

Aria clutched her stomach and bit her lip. “It’s not a miscarriage… I already had an abortion.”

Raphael’s mouth opened, his expression hesitant. “When?”

“What kind of husband are you? You didn’t even know your wife had an abortion?”

The doctor was skeptical. She had a nurse bring over the ultrasound machine while lifting Aria’s clothes to examine her.

There was a ring of bruises on Aria’s lower abdomen. It didn’t look like she had been pushed once; it looked more like she’d been struck repeatedly.

Raphael’s lips tightened.

“Two weeks ago…”

Aria’s face paled. “Can you try some hemostatic drugs first?”

Of course, she understood what the doctor was implying.

Lilith had the same blood type, and Gideon had just used all the available supply on her. If Aria underwent surgery now, there would be no blood for her.

If something went wrong, she wouldn’t even have a chance to be saved.

In that moment, Aria hated Gideon with every fiber of her being.

She had already prepared herself for the hysterectomy, but she never imagined that Gideon would be the one to accelerate it.

They say there's a bond that forms even in the briefest of marriages, but what sin had she committed to deserve being married to Gideon?

The doctor manipulated the probe, examining the source of the bleeding in Aria’s uterus, and frowned.

“The bleeding area is extensive. We’ll try to stop it with medication first.”
