After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 208

Since she couldn't leave the hospital for a few days, she had asked Raphael to bring her books and needles. She was unable to get out of bed, so she kept them tucked under her pillow.

The moment the man had burst in, Aria had felt for the needles. During the struggle, her wound had torn slightly, but thankfully, she had managed to grab one.

Aria gasped for breath. “He has a camera on him!”

The hospital security team arrived and immediately pinned the man to the ground as he tried to get up and flee.

“Aria? Are you okay?” Raphael had gotten a call from the nurse and rushed over. “This is my fault. I shouldn’t have left you here alone!”

Aldous Evernight had also fallen ill these past few days, and the results from Gideon Evernight’s side were not yet in. Everything had fallen on Raphael’s shoulders.

It was his oversight that had put Aria in danger.

Aria shook her head. “I’m fine. The wound just tore a little. It’ll be fine once the dressing is changed.”

Her gaze shifted from Raphael to Charles. “What are you doing here? Are you still trying to get me to drop the lawsuit?”

Charles’s voice was heavy. “Why would a miscarriage leave a wound like that?”

Why?

Aria forced a smile. “Of course, it’s because…”

“Charles! What are you doing here?”

Flora Keene had been monitoring the situation. Seeing Charles there, she had initially planned to stay hidden.

But since the conversation had turned to this, she knew she had to intervene.

“Are you here to ask Aria to donate blood, too? That was my first thought, but seeing her like this, I’m afraid she won’t be able to donate to Lilith.”

Charles opened his mouth to object, but Flora was his fiancée. If he admitted he came specifically to see Aria, Flora would get the wrong idea again.

At Flora’s words, Aria’s gaze turned even colder.
