After dinner, Aria, in her wheelchair, saw Alden and Mira off.
"Are you heading back to the hospital?"
Raphael had already reached out to push Aria’s wheelchair.
Aria maneuvered the wheelchair back slightly.
"I still have something to do. I'll go back to the hospital on my own later."
Raphael’s fingers paused. He wanted to ask what she had to do, but he didn't feel he had the right.
He could only nod. "Alright. Call me anytime if you have a problem. Do you need a ride?"
"No, thank you. I'll take the subway."
With that, Aria steered her wheelchair toward the subway station.
It was late, and the subway car heading toward the hospital was not very crowded.
Aria pulled up the old article about Sylvia again.
She read it over carefully one more time.
Sylvia wasn't dead?
Then where had she been all these years?
Why was she unwilling to appear?
Besides, Sylvia had been declared legally dead; otherwise, Aria wouldn't have been able to inherit her estate.
Back when Lilith returned to the Brent family, she had been quite heartbroken over Sylvia, and Roxanne was constantly comforting her.
At the time, Aria thought it was because they had a good relationship and couldn't bear to be apart, so she felt too awkward to ask about Sylvia's situation.
She never imagined it was because something had happened to Sylvia.
Now Lilith was saying Sylvia wasn’t dead. Could there be some hidden story?
Full of questions, Aria put her phone back in her pocket and headed to the hospital.
As she approached Lilith's room, it was eerily quiet.
Aria could only hear the beeping of the medical equipment.
Inside the room, it was clear a medical emergency had just occurred.
