The entire Evernight estate fell silent.
Eveline picked up the phone in disbelief. "What did you say?"
She was fond of Lilith, and hearing this news was genuinely heartbreaking for her.
"Ms. Lilith Rowan has passed away. However, Ms. Aria is still in the room. Ms. Flora has already called the police. Please return as soon as possible to handle the situation!"
The line went dead.
Eveline felt faint herself. She seethed, "Why on earth would Aria go see Lilith?!"
Today, when Raphael secured the patent from Aria, Eveline already had a bad feeling!
Aria was her daughter-in-law, after all. Was it not enough that she didn't give the benefits to Gideon? Now she was brazenly supporting Raphael!
If word got out that Gideon and Aria were actually married, she’d never be able to show her face in society again.
"Gideon, you must handle this cleanly. If necessary, we'll divorce Aria immediately. We can't let her drag you down!"
Gideon, who was already putting on his coat to leave, paused for a moment at Eveline's words.
"First, inform the Rowan family that Lilith has passed away. Nathan has to be there. I'll handle the rest. Take care of Mrs. Rowan."

Flora had already cried herself into unconsciousness in Charles's arms twice.
Lilith lay on the bed, her body covered by a white sheet, waiting for her parents to see her one last time.
"Charles, it's my fault. I shouldn't have left Lilith. But I was just trying to discuss her condition with the doctor where she couldn't hear, I never thought… this would be our last goodbye!
My Lilith, my poor Lilith. She fell ill so young, and someone even pulled her oxygen tube! Why, Aria, why would you do this to Lilith!"
"What is this?! Aria, why would you bring a bottle like this to see Lilith?! You're a doctor, you know Lilith has a delicate constitution, so…"
Charles's face fell. He immediately took the small vial from Flora and examined it carefully.
It had no label, making it difficult to identify the liquid inside. To be certain, it would require machine testing.
"That's my personal property. You have no right to snatch it." Aria held out her hand, looking at Charles. "Give it back. When the police arrive, I will cooperate with any questions they have."
Charles pursed his lips and tightened his grip on the vial. "I'll hold onto it for safekeeping until the police get here."
"Yes! To prevent Aria from tampering with it and destroying the evidence!"
"Aria, Aria, are you okay?"
Gideon walked in quickly, his eyes first scanning Aria. Seeing that she was unharmed, he felt a sense of relief.
