Because the equipment was so advanced, the results came back quickly.
"It is indeed normal sodium chloride."
The medical examiner reviewed the results and Lilith's medication records. "Lilith received sodium chloride infusions daily and had no allergic reaction to it. This was definitely not a case of poisoning."
A vial containing less than three milliliters of saline solution couldn't possibly be fatal.
The examiner added, "If you have doubts about the deceased's death, you can request an autopsy. However, based on the current evidence, there's not enough to constitute a murder case."
Upon hearing this, Aria maneuvered her wheelchair and spoke slowly, "So, can I leave?"
"You're not going anywhere!"
Flora immediately blocked Aria's path.
"Mr. and Mrs. Rowan haven't arrived yet, so we don't have the authority to request an autopsy! If you destroy the evidence during this time, even if they find something wrong with the body later, there will be no proof!"
Aria glanced around at the people in the room.
A silent Charles, an enraged Flora, and a stoic Gideon staring at Lilith's body.
Quite the performance they were putting on.
"Why are you so certain that I would kill Lilith?" Aria asked. "During her hospitalization, wasn't she ever in critical condition?"
"Or is it that you can't accept Lilith's death, so you have to find a scapegoat?"
Lilith's medical records were clear: she had a month to live at most. She didn't die from the bone tumor; she died from overtreatment.
"All of you, claiming you were doing what was best for her, but what did you actually do?" Aria said with a hint of mockery. "I think she would have lived a better life if she had never met any of you."
"Shut up!"
As if Aria had struck a nerve, Flora flung her handbag at her.
Aria was in a wheelchair and couldn't move easily.
