Even with Henry fired, the company was still bearing the brunt of the financial hit.
Aria sat down in the executive chair and began sorting through the other pending documents.
Since she used to handle this exact workload, she fell into a comfortable rhythm.
After organizing the files, a secretary knocked and entered.
"Ms. Rowan, Mr. Adler is here."
"Graham Adler?"
The secretary nodded.
"Send him in."
Aria had been planning to schedule a meeting with Graham, but she hadn't expected him to show up on his own.
"Aria? What are you doing here? Where's Mr. Evernight?"
Graham had walked in with a sycophantic smile, but his expression soured the moment he saw Aria sitting in the executive chair.
She didn't miss the fleeting look of blatant flattery that had just crossed his face.
Raising an eyebrow, Aria didn't bother softening her tone. "I'm sitting in Gideon's chair now. Whatever you have to say, you can say it to me. I'm calling the shots."
Graham glanced at the secretary, who quickly clarified, "Yes, Ms. Rowan is acting on behalf of Mr. Evernight."
Graham's face turned even uglier.
During their past business negotiations, he had constantly pressured Aria to drink and tried to take advantage of her.
Logically, since Evercrest was the one delaying the contract this time, he should have had the upper hand. Yet before he could even stir up trouble, the Evernight family had started moving against his company.
It had taken him calling in multiple favors just to figure out what was happening.
Overnight, almost all his suppliers had severed ties with him, even choosing to pay the breach of contract fees.
It had been less than twenty-four hours. If he couldn't secure his supply chain, his company's stock would tank within a week.
