Charles's grip on the door handle tightened until his knuckles turned white.
Harold was still a lunatic. He still wanted to ruin Aria!
Charles scanned the room. It was an intimate family dinner—just Harold, his parents, Helena, Roxanne, and himself. Six people in total.
Seeing Charles arrive, Roxanne quickly stood up.
"Charles, come sit down."
Harold's face darkened when he saw his brother. He spoke with undisguised resentment.
"Charles, what's the deal with you selling off all my projects?"
"You've been overseas for years, completely ignoring the company, and the second you get back, you try to kick me out?"
"Aunt Helena is getting older, and Roxanne is just a woman. I was the one holding the Brent Group together. When I got locked up, not only did you refuse to help me, but you tried to purge me from the company. Don't you think that's crossing a line?"
Charles's fists clenched. He was about to explode when Roxanne reached over and grabbed his hand.
Roxanne subtly shook her head, telling him to calm down.
For years, Harold had done whatever he pleased within the Brent family, heavily enabled by Helena's blind favoritism.
Helena had always resented Charles for staying abroad, while Harold was a master manipulator. He and his parents had practically bled the Brent Group dry.
Roxanne had known, but she had been powerless to stop it.
Seeing Charles stay quiet, Harold felt emboldened.
"I heard Roxanne got shaken down for a hundred million dollars by the Evernight family, and now they want it paid back. Why the hell are my projects being sold to cover her mess?"
"Roxanne hasn't given me a single dime of that money. If you ask me, a married daughter is like spilled water. If you want to bail her out, you shouldn't be draining the company's assets to do it."
Charles glanced at his mother. Helena clearly had no intention of stepping in. Suppressing his fury, Charles spoke.
"Are you saying my sister never gave you anything? When the company was in crisis years ago, wasn't it her money that plugged the hole?
