After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 323

"Aria, I know Flora wronged you, but the baby is innocent—"

"Get the hell out!"

Aria violently hurled the stack of documents right at Charles's chest.

"What right do you have to call that child innocent?! If it belongs to Flora, there is nothing innocent about it!"

Did Flora care about innocence when she pushed Aria down? Because of Charles, her body was traumatized. Because of Flora, her future was stolen. And now Charles had the audacity to stand in her office and preach about the innocence of Flora's baby?

It wasn't innocent at all!

Aria's eyes were bloodshot as she glared at him with pure venom.

"Flora has done so many filthy things. Aren't you terrified karma is going to collect its dues from that child?"

"Aria!" Charles's face paled.

"Get out! Get out right now!"

Aria rarely lost control of her emotions like this. Charles took a deep breath, realizing she was far beyond the point of reason, and turned to leave the office.

Aria stared fiercely at the closed door. Minutes ticked by, but the suffocating wave of despair refused to recede. Her chest heaved violently until a single tear broke free. Then, she couldn't hold it back anymore. A raw, broken sob tore from her throat.

What started as a quiet weeping quickly unraveled into uncontrollable sobbing. She hadn't cried when she was told her baby couldn't be saved. She hadn't cried when she realized the permanent damage to her body. But now, hearing that Flora got to be a mother, years of repressed agony finally shattered the dam.

The delayed grief was overwhelming and torrential.

Standing in the hallway, Charles heard her muffled sobs through the heavy door. It felt as if a pair of iron hands were brutally wringing his heart. He had been a fool to bring up the baby in front of her. Aria had every right to hate Flora.

But right now, his priority was keeping Flora and Roxanne out of prison. Since Aria refused to back down, his only option was to pressure the Evernight family.
