It’s amazing how much energy a person has when they’re plotting something devious.
Raphael drove Aria directly to the research institute.
Ivy was just leaving, followed by a group of people.
They were all foreigners.
Aria didn't recognize any of them, except for Ivy and Alden.
Raphael leaned closer to Aria and whispered, "I've already told Dr. Reaves about this, and he supports it. Right now, he's just giving them a tour. After the contract is signed, we'll move them straight to the branch."
Aria suppressed a smile and nodded. "Don't worry, I won't give anything away!"
When Alden saw them approaching, he introduced them to HM's representative. "This is Aria, Dawn's representative."
"Hello, hello. I am Charlie."
The middle-aged man saw Aria and greeted her with a thick, stumbling accent.
Aria shook his hand. "Hello."
Alden said, "Aria, this is the director of HM. He's here to collaborate with our institute."
Aria nodded quickly. "It's an honor!"
"Mr. Reaves, Charlie is here for the Dawn project, so after we begin our collaboration, I hope both sides can be completely transparent," Ivy said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She glanced quickly at the silent Raphael before adding, "Raphael, all these years, I've also been conducting research on genetic diseases. I hope I can help you, just like Dawn."
Raphael's expression didn't change; he just gave a perfunctory nod.
"Ms. Aria, so young and accomplished," Charlie said, taking out his phone. "Can I… add you as a contact? I would like to be friends… with Ms. Aria."
Charlie's English was poor, his sentences choppy and halting.
