Aria took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down.

“It looks like I have no choice but to go to the funeral tomorrow.”

“Then I’ll go with you, Aria! This time, I won’t leave your side. I’ll make sure what happened last time never happens again!”

This whole affair was aimed at her. It didn’t seem right to drag Mira into it.

“I’ll go with her.”

Raphael sent a few messages.

“I’ve already told my grandfather that I will be attending Lilith’s funeral tomorrow.”

Mira’s mouth twitched. He was certainly quick, as if he was afraid she’d take his place.

“Mira, it’s getting late. You should stay here for the night.”

Aria didn’t object to Raphael’s statement. After opening the door, she looked at Mira.

“I have plenty of rooms. It’s late, so it’s better not to go back alone.”

Mira was about to nod when she felt an intensely pressuring gaze fixated on her.

The words she was about to say did a little pirouette on the tip of her tongue before she swallowed them back down.

“It’s okay, Aria. I have trouble sleeping in beds that aren't my own…”
