After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 55

Aria shook her head.

“When I left the institute, this was the direction I was researching. You know why—because of Charles.”

Back then, when the nerves in Charles’s hand were severed, she had secretly begun researching a way to help him.

“However, I should have historical records of when I compiled this data from a few years ago.”

“Without proof, I don’t want to suspect anyone,” Professor Reaves said, sitting back down in his chair.

“How about this: the project you’re holding onto still needs some preparation time anyway. For now, you’ll join Hazel’s research team. If you find proof that she plagiarized, I will not be lenient.”

“Okay.”

She was curious to see what kind of drug Hazel had developed using her research anyway.

Professor Reaves was decisive, notifying Hazel immediately.

Less than ten minutes later, Hazel stormed in.

“Professor, I refuse to let Aria join!” Hazel burst through the door, her eyes fixing on Aria for a few seconds before she spoke coldly. “I’ve already invited Charles, and the team is at full capacity!”

“I’ll just be there to document research data, not to participate in your research.”

In short, she would be an assistant.

“It’s decided.” Professor Reaves’s word was final. “Aria will report tomorrow.”

Hazel looked like she wanted to argue, but hearing his tone, she bit her lip and agreed.

After leaving the office, Hazel immediately sent a message to Flora.

[Hazel: Flora, Aria has joined my research team. Do you think she knows Charles is on it too?]

Flora received the message while she was having dinner with Charles.

She looked up as Charles peeled a shrimp for her, then said hesitantly, “Charles, Aria has joined Ms. Quinn’s team…”

“Do you think she joined because she knows Lilith is a trial subject and… she wants to make things difficult for her?”

Charles’s hands paused. “When was she added?”
