After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 54

Hazel handed her research data to Charles.

Flora saw the adoration in Hazel’s eyes and scoffed internally.

It was better for Charles to work with Hazel than to be forced to interact with Aria because of Dawn.

She casually sized Hazel up.

Plain family background, plain looks. Aside from her research having some value, how could she possibly compare to her?

“Charles, just take a look,” Flora purred, wrapping herself around his arm with a practiced, teasing smile.”

Charles didn’t have high hopes, but not wanting to disappoint Flora, he took the folder and flipped through a few pages.

“This is your research direction?”

Hazel nodded. “Charles, with you joining for the clinical trials, I’m confident we can make even greater progress!”

Charles turned a few more pages.

“Why is this data from nearly a decade ago? The research direction itself is viable, though.”

Hazel’s expression didn’t waver. “As you can see, I proposed this research direction years ago but have only recently begun the clinical phase. This is just a small portion of the data I brought for you to review.”

“So, Charles, does this mean you think the research has potential?” Flora asked excitedly, gripping his arm tightly. “Do you want to give it a try?”

“But Lilith’s condition might not hold until the trial is over.”

Although it was an early-stage bone tumor, it would be very dangerous if it metastasized to a vital organ.

“But this gives us another option, doesn’t it? If Aria really doesn’t let Dawn help, we won’t just be leaving Lilith to die…”

After some thought, and given that the research direction was indeed solid, Charles didn’t shut the door completely. “Send me the research data from the last few months.”

Hazel immediately took out her phone. “Let me add you!”
