After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 57

"You're lying," Gideon said confidently. "Didn't you partner with Dawn just to have some leverage with me?"

"Now that I'm willing to have a proper life with you, you should put away all those little schemes of yours."

Aria couldn't help but roll her eyes. He was so conceited.

But since she couldn't get pregnant anyway, he could think whatever he wanted.

Still, the thought of possibly having to share a bed with him tonight made her stomach churn with nausea.

She hadn't eaten dinner, and her stomach was starting to ache again.

Her antacids weren't in Gideon's room. She pushed him. "Move. I'm going back to my room."

"You're staying here tonight," Gideon said, grabbing her wrist and pulling her onto the bed. "And from now on."

Just as he finished speaking, his phone rang.

Aria glanced over and saw the caller ID: Lilith.

Gideon paused for a few seconds before answering.

"Gideon, can you stay with me tonight? My dad isn't feeling well, and my mom went to take care of him. There's no one here with me…"

Lilith's voice carried clearly to Aria's ears.

It was soft, pitiful, as if pleading for salvation. Gideon was a sucker for it.

Aria sat on the bed, a scornful look on her face.

Gideon reached out and pinched her chin, applying a little pressure.

"Don't you have a caregiver?"

"My mom insisted on watching over me herself, so she gave the nurse the night off… I saw the weather forecast. It's supposed to thunderstorm tonight, and I'm a little scared being alone…"

"I see," Gideon said. "I'll be over in a bit."

He chose Lilith again, of course.

It was to be expected.

"That look on your face—do you want me to stay? Lilith is a patient. I'll spend time with you tomorrow."
