After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 68

Eveline watched the pathetic Aria in the video and frowned. “How disgusting.”

Gideon took the phone and watched for a few moments.

He recognized the speaker’s voice immediately but hadn’t realized Aria had been bullied so severely.

“Let her go.”

Gideon casually tossed the phone next to Aria.

“I need to talk to her alone.”

Since there were no other leads on the phone, Eveline had no desire to stay. Seeing Aria humiliated like this had eased some of her own frustration.

The door closed.

Aria remained in the same position, her voice hoarse. “You must be happy, seeing me humiliated like this.”

Gideon looked down on her. “No.”

Aria didn’t believe him.

Her eyes shifted before she slowly sat up straight.

“If you tell me where Dawn is, I can help you get revenge on the Keene Group.”

Gideon reached out and brushed a stray lock of hair from Aria’s cheek, his expression softening. “I can make Flora pay.”

Aria found it laughable.

Gideon standing up for her was, in essence, just another way to use her. If she accepted this favor, she would be indebted to him.

Aria wanted no part of that kind of arrangement.

“If you really want to help me, then keep your mother away from me.”

“My mother is an elder. Even if she goes too far, she just wants us to have a good life together.”

“This was just an accident. She didn’t mean to humiliate you.”

Aria had no patience for this. She pointed to the door and said coldly, “Get out.”

Aria bit her lip, wiped her tears dry, and dialed the police. “Hello, I’d like to report a crime.”

She had kept the medical reports detailing her injuries from back then. Combined with the videos as evidence, it should be enough to put Flora away.

She briefly explained the situation to the police.

But because so much time had passed, she would have to go to the station tomorrow to provide a detailed statement.

Aria quickly agreed and set up a time.

“Officer, is the evidence I have now enough for a conviction? Is there anything else I need to prepare?”

“A witness would be best. But if the evidence you mentioned is authentic, it’s very powerful!”

The officer on the line was a kind woman. While sympathizing with Aria’s ordeal, she meticulously listed all the additional documents and items she would need to prepare.

“Ms. Rowan, don’t be afraid. We’re behind you. And you are very brave! Please keep being this brave!”

“I need to file another report,” Aria said, taking a deep breath. “I was just robbed. Someone broke into my room and stole my phone!”
