“Your pregnancy isn’t developing well, and there are already signs of a threatened miscarriage. Whether you choose to continue the pregnancy or terminate it, it won’t be easy on your body.”
The doctor couldn’t help but take a second look at the woman before her.
Her long hair was a bit of a mess, and her eyes were bloodshot, clearly from crying. She still let out a choked sob every now and then.
Her clothes were disheveled, suggesting she might have been through some kind of accident.
“Where is the child’s father?”
Aria had just been crying, and her voice was still thick with congestion. “He’s dead.”
“I’m so sorry.”
The doctor understood. No wonder she looked so haggard; she had just lost her husband.
She was so young. Keeping the child would be a burden, but terminating the pregnancy right after her husband’s death was a heavy choice.
It was truly a difficult decision.
“Regardless, I’ll prescribe some medication to help stabilize the pregnancy for now.” The doctor typed away at her keyboard. “You also have some issues with your uterus. Even if you decide to terminate, you’ll need to let your body recover first.”
“You must take the medicine on schedule, and come back for a follow-up in two weeks. Use this time to think carefully about what you want to do.”
Seeing Aria all alone, the doctor felt a pang of sympathy and couldn’t help but add a few more words.
“Honestly, keeping this child out of sentiment might not be the best thing for you. You still have your whole life ahead of you…”
Aria felt like crying again.
She had spent her youth on two men, and neither had ended well.
She was foolish, so foolish.
But the doctor was right. She still had plenty of time to experience the world.
Aria quickly wiped her eyes and thanked the doctor in a low voice.
After getting her prescription filled, Aria bought a bottle of water and swallowed the pills.
About half an hour later, the pain in her abdomen began to subside.
Her phone pinged.
