Nicole figured Jett actually made some sense, but there was no way she’d admit that with the stream still rolling.

She quickly switched gears. “I’ll go make dinner.

“Jett, can you help me wash and chop the veggies?”

It had been ages since she’d washed or chopped any veggies herself.

Jett blinked, pointing at himself. “Me? Wash and chop veggies? I’ve never done that before.”

Nicole reassured him, “It’s not hard at all. You’ll get the hang of it once you start.”

Jett grinned. “Alright, but I need to hit the bathroom first. You start washing, and I’ll help when I get back.”

‘Honestly, I can’t count on any of these three. So freaking frustrating,’ she thought, feeling totally fed up.

Just then, Nicole spotted Caleb and the other two as they walked back in from outside.

Tears burst out as she showed them her hand, sobbing, “I cut my finger, and it’s bleeding!”

Caleb and the others had no words.

‘Come on, it’s just a little scratch, and she’s making such a big deal out of it, they thought.

Jett’s eyes darted as he turned to Nicolas. “Hey, Nicolas, why don’t you help Nicole out and suck the blood off her finger?”

Jett grinned. “Yeah, just put her injured finger in your mouth and suck the blood away.”

The other Nicolas’s eyes went wide. “What kind of nasty idea is that? No way I’m doing something that gross.

“If you’re so eager, you do it yourself! Aren’t you the one who’s always had a thing for Nicole? Now’s your chance to prove it,” he shot back.

Jett shot back, totally unfazed, “But Nicole likes you, so you’re the one who should do it.”

Nicolas shook his head. “Nope, you do it instead.”

“You do it!”

Neither of them wanted to take responsibility, just kept passing the buck.

Nicole’s face darkened. ‘What’s their deal?’ she thought.

‘If they both say they like me, shouldn’t they be jumping at the chance to help? Why are they both trying to shove it off on each other?’ she wondered.

She remembered what Jett had said earlier, so she kept quiet and didn’t reach out to Nicolas.

She decided to give him the cold shoulder and see how he’d react.

She turned to Caleb. “Hey Caleb, you—”

Caleb had been watching the whole mess unfold, but the moment Nicole called his name, he got nervous, afraid she’d ask him to do that nasty blood thing.

That was way too gross for him.

So he cut her off before she could finish. “I’ll go ask the production team for a band-aid.”

He spun around and made a run for it.

Nicole was speechless.

‘I was just going to ask him to grab me a band-aid. Why’d he bolt like that?’ she thought.

Soon enough, Caleb came back with a band-aid.

After Nicole put the band-aid on.

Jett said, “Nicole, hurry up and get back to cooking. I’m starving!”

Caleb chimed in, “Same here! Nicole, could you pick up the pace? The smell from upstairs is killing me.”
