Chapter 220
Chapter 220
To avoid being pestered by him, Alicia texted back a quick reply.
[I’ve already agreed to help Jett with that client, so you’ll need to ask someone else.]
Collin’s expression darkened when he saw her reply.
He’d already heard that the big client had gotten in touch with both him and Ian.
The only reason he was reaching out to Alicia now was because he’d been running around trying to get her new number.
But it turned out he was still a step too late.
He couldn’t help but give it one more shot: [It’s the same client we’re talking about. When you go to treat him, could you include me as well? Like, can you say I’m also asking for your help?]
[I just want a fair shot at competing with Ian and the others on this project.]
Alicia saw the message and wasn’t the least bit surprised. [No. Even if Ian and the others weren’t in the picture, I still wouldn’t help you.]
[Stop contacting me. I’m done replying.]
Seeing those two messages pop up one after another, Collin’s eyes darkened.
‘Alicia’s really cold-hearted now. When she cuts someone off, she doesn’t even blink,’ he thought.
He clenched his phone tighter in his hand.
If Alicia actually cured that big client, the project he’d been chasing would be doomed.
And that would mess with the eco wellness project down the line too.
He knew Alicia’s personality all too well. Once she said she wouldn’t help and stopped replying, she’d never look back.
All he could do now was keep trying to reach out to other top traditional medicine experts.
And now, he was taking out all his frustration on Nicole.
If it hadn’t been for Nicole’s scheming and manipulation, Alicia wouldn’t have cut them off so decisively, and things wouldn’t be such a mess right now.
So he made up his mind to cause Nicole some trouble.
Chapter 220
Early the next morning.
The guests got up one after another. Hannah headed to the kitchen to make breakfast, and Alicia got up early to help out.
By the time everyone in their group had finished eating, Nicole finally came out of her room.
Her eyes were swollen and red, with makeup caked on thick to try and hide it.
It was clear she’d spent the night crying and barely got any sleep-she looked completely drained.
In the past, if Nicole showed up looking this pale and worn out, Nicolas and Caleb would’ve been the first to check on her, worried sick.
But now, the two of them just sat in their chairs, not even bothering to get up, acting like they hadn’t seen her.
Jett, on the other hand, made a point of going over.
“Hey, Nicole, finally decided to join us?” Jett called out.
He grinned, “So, does this mean you’re making breakfast now? We’re starving over here!”
Nicole was totally speechless.
‘Is he for real? Does he really think I’m just here to cook for him?’ she thought.
She’d been anxious all night, her nerves still shot from what Jason said yesterday.
She barely got any sleep, and her stomach was in knots-the thought of cooking just made her feel worse.
Dragging herself over, looking totally exhausted, she muttered, “I’m really not feeling well today. Pretty sure I’ve got a fever.
“So I can’t cook. You guys are on your own for breakfast.”
She’d even doused herself with cold water twice last night, all on purpose.
Even though it was hot during the day, the mountain got pretty chilly at night.
Sure enough, when she woke up this morning, she felt groggy, like she was coming down with a fever.
She’d gotten herself sick on purpose, just so she wouldn’t have to do the livestream today.
