After Being Replaced I Left Them All Behind-Now They Regret It novel Chapter 281

28: Chapter 281

281.Chapter 281

When Leo woke up, he realized he was lying in a bed.

He glanced around at the unfamiliar room-seemed like he was in a hospital.

He tried to sit up, but he was too weak to move. He couldn’t even get himself upright.

After a while, the door swung open.

Mavis walked in.

She smiled and said, “Honey, you’re awake.”

Leo’s face turned grim. “Where is this place? What were you trying to do by knocking me out?”

Mavis replied, “This is a hospital funded by the miracle doctor.

“You suddenly passed out at home, so I brought you here to get checked out and treated.”

Leo said, “I want out of here. If I have to stay in a hospital, I want it to be the Delaney family’s hospital.”

Mavis laughed. “Do you really think that’s possible?”

She walked over and sat down. “Just stay put and be good. I’ll keep you company.”

Leo frowned. “Are you seriously keeping me locked up here against my will?”

Mavis wasn’t fazed at all. “I’m your wife, and you were sick. I brought you to the hospital-how is that holding you here illegally?

“Honestly, you must be delirious from the illness.”

Leo paused, then asked, “So what do I have to do for you to let me out of here?”

Mavis took out a set of transfer papers from her bag. “Just sign this, and you’re free to go.”

Not that she’d admit it, but even if he managed to leave the hospital, he’d still be stuck with her.

Leo tried to reach for the papers, but he couldn’t even lift his hand. “I don’t have any strength left-how am I supposed to even look at it?”

Mavis pulled out a bottle, opened it, and held it right up to his nose. “Just take a whiff-you’ll get your strength back.”

Left with no other option, Leo took a sniff.

After sniffing for a while, he actually felt a bit stronger than before.

He pushed himself up to a half-sitting position on the bed, but his legs were still like jelly.

He tried to get another sniff, but Mavis snatched the bottle away. She said, “Just read the agreement first.”

Leo picked up the agreement and skimmed through it. Now he finally understood why Mavis dared to keep him here. against his will.

She was after the whole damn thing.

He asked, “So you want me to hand over all my shares and assets to you and Nicole?”

The agreement stated that all the shares and most of the assets would go to Nicole, while a portion of the fixed assets and all the money in the bank would be transferred to Mavis.

Mavis replied, “Exactly. After all these years serving your family, isn’t it only fair I get something in return?”

Leo raised an eyebrow. “And what if I say no?”

Mavis shrugged. “Suit yourself, but let’s see if you can really handle it.

“We won’t lay a finger on you. Trust me, you’ll sign it all on your own.”

Leo let out a furious laugh. “You lock me up, drug me, and use my health against me-and you call that voluntary?”

Mavis said, “Cut the crap. I already took the recorder out of your shirt pocket.

“Think whatever you want, but if you don’t sign this agreement, you’re not leaving this hospital.”

She stood up and said, “I won’t be staying with you these next couple of days-no point in watching you suffer, it just makes me feel bad for you.”

The miracle doctor had told her to leave him al Successfully unlocked! n stew in his own misery, so he’d finally realize

how much he needed her around.

Before Leo could say anything, she was already out the door.

281 Chapter 281

She didn’t bother pushing him to sign-she knew there was no way he’d agree right now

Instead, she planned to wait until he finally broke down and signed on his own.

Leo sat brooding on the hospital bed, his gaze drifting to his wristwatch, almost as if by accident

Only then did he let out a silent sigh of relief.

After learning the miracle doctor was actually his father’s illegitimate son, he’d made sure to cover his bases before meeting Mavis.

He’d brought bodyguards with him, and even slipped a recorder into his shirt pocket.

His watch had a hidden recorder and a GPS tracker, just in case.

Every three hours, the recording would get sent straight to his email.

He’d started the whole thing as soon as he stepped into the house.

The watch was a present from Mavis, and with how possessive she was, she’d never let him take it off-and he knew better than to even try.

Just as he expected, the lucky jade his late wife had given him was missing, but the watch was still there on his wrist
