After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 1078

The busy workday flew by in a blur.

Before long, the evening rolled in, marking the end of the shift.

Isabella walked out of her office and immediately spotted Harold waiting for her. He stood there holding a stunning bouquet, and the moment his eyes met hers, a bright smile broke across his strikingly handsome face.

Harold possessed an effortlessly elegant, gentlemanly charm. Whenever he smiled, it felt like a soothing, warm breeze.

Isabella loved seeing that smile.

Even before she realized she was falling for him, she had always found his presence incredibly comforting.

He brought a steady warmth into her life that she had never known.

"Ready to head out?"

Harold stepped forward, offering her the flowers.

Isabella took the bouquet, her eyes softening. "They're gorgeous. Thank you."

"Beautiful flowers for a beautiful woman."

Isabella laughed, a genuine, radiant joy reaching her eyes.

They walked out of the building together.

Most of the staff had already headed home, though everyone at the company was more than used to seeing Harold pick her up almost every single day.

The senior staff had been with Isabella since her early studio days. Back when she launched the business, she was still known as Mrs. Adams. In those days, Ethan rarely bothered to show his face, let alone wait outside to take her home.

Harold was endlessly more attentive than Ethan ever was, and his devotion to Isabella was undeniably real.

Because they had been with her the longest, the veteran employees felt comfortable enough to tell her that choosing Harold was the best decision she could have ever made.

Life was entirely dictated by who you chose to share it with.

And building a life with a man who truly cherished you was nothing short of deeply sweet.

Stepping out of the building, Harold glanced at her. "Let's take my car. I made a dinner reservation at one of my hotels."

"Sounds perfect."

Natalie didn't care about turning a profit. She had plenty of investments beyond short dramas, so she didn't need the money.

Throwing her door open, Natalie marched straight up to Harold's passenger side and violently pounded her fists against the glass.

Isabella calmly rolled the window down. Without a second of hesitation, Natalie lunged, trying to slap her across the face.

Isabella snatched her wrist mid-air. When Natalie tried to swing with her free hand, Isabella moved faster. With a fierce yank, she hauled Natalie's upper body straight through the open window, pinning her awkwardly against the doorframe and stripping away her leverage.

Isabella held her in a vice grip, not making another move. Harold immediately reached for his door handle, but Isabella stopped him. "I've got this. Just sit tight."

Harold didn't argue, but his gaze turned predatory as he locked eyes on Natalie. The second Isabella lost the upper hand, he was going to intervene.

Did this lunatic really think she could assault his girlfriend right in front of him and he'd just sit there like a corpse?

"Let me go!"

Natalie thrashed wildly, her free hand clawing blindly at the air in a desperate attempt to scratch Isabella's face.

"Natalie," Isabella warned, her voice dripping with ice. "If I grab a handful of your hair and pull, you'll squeal like a slaughtered pig. You've completely lost the upper hand, yet you're still acting like you own the world. You've been spoiled rotten your entire life. I can't even imagine how many people have been completely fooled by your elegant, high-society act."
