Stephanie shot her grandson a look that clearly said *you're on your own* before slipping out the door to seek refuge at the George residence next door.
That left Susan to chaperone, standing guard to ensure the house wasn't empty so Natalie couldn't try to take advantage of Ethan's weakened state.
"Ethan, let me cook for you today. I brought a wellness hamper to build your strength back up."
Natalie's eyes trailed over his striking, albeit slightly gaunt, features. "Look how much weight you've lost. You really need to take care of yourself now that you're out of the hospital."
She pouted, stepping closer. "You didn't even tell me when you had your accident. I had to ask Isabella, and she deliberately kept me in the dark! She just wanted to play the hero and ice me out."
"If I had known, I would have been here taking care of you. You wouldn't look this exhausted."
Natalie had only visited once after York had tipped her off about the incident. The conversation had been disastrous, and she hadn't returned to see him again.
She hadn't even shown up the day he was discharged. It wasn't until Ethan made a public appearance at his company, signaling to the world that he was back, that she started dropping by again.
Now, she was making a habit of it, though she usually just sat down with a glass of water and left in a huff when Ethan gave her the cold shoulder.
"My family blocked the news," Ethan said coldly. "Stop blaming Isabella for everything. What difference would it have made if you knew? Would it have magically undone the accident?"
He shifted on the couch, his tone laced with absolute exhaustion. "And stop talking about taking care of me. You are a married woman. How does it look, you hovering over me? Do you ever think about how Jordan feels about this? Or the rumors it'll spark? If you aren't afraid of the gossip, I am."
He leveled a hard look at her. "I'm single. If you ruin my reputation, how am I supposed to find a wife? More importantly, I absolutely refuse to let Isabella get the wrong idea."
"Natalie, I made myself perfectly clear before the accident. We are never going back to the way things were. I don't love you. You need to focus on your marriage with Jordan and keep your distance from me. I don't want Isabella thinking I'm going back on my word."
Ethan was at his wit's end. The woman was utterly relentless.
He couldn't get rid of her.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
I will be devastated if Isabella and Ethan will get back together. Please, writer, Isabella deserves Harold....
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
