Jordan’s brows knitted together. “Ever since Cynthia and Isabella moved in, they’ve had nothing to do with the George family. The Georges kicked them out back then and meant to cut ties for good.”
He didn’t know much about Cynthia’s ex-husband or his family. Cynthia had married in when Jordan was just a kid, maybe ten years old. All he remembered was that Isabella’s birth father was a George, and after he died, his family threw Cynthia and Isabella out. The Georges couldn’t stand that Isabella was a girl. By tossing them aside, they could keep their late son’s inheritance for themselves.
Rumor had it Isabella still had two uncles on her dad’s side. Her grandparents were heartless, probably because they wanted the money to support their younger sons. Their eldest was gone, so they pinned their hopes on the others. If Isabella had been a boy, there was no way her grandparents would’ve kicked her out. In the end, the George family only cared about having sons.
“Find out what’s going on with the George family now,” Natalie said, her tone calculating. “If they’re struggling, let’s make sure they hear about Isabella marrying rich. They’ll come running after her for money.”
“I think her dad’s family is from some remote village. Those country folks are tough and shameless. If they learn Isabella’s loaded and living the high life, they’ll come looking for a handout, even without us telling them to.”
“The Adams family elders already don’t like Isabella. If a whole group of poor relatives show up, they’ll just hate her even more.” That was exactly what Natalie wanted. If everyone in the Adams family turned against Isabella, she’d lose her footing, and eventually she and Ethan would split up. Without Ethan backing her, Natalie was curious to see what Isabella could really do.
She doubted people like Barbara and Linda actually wanted to be friends with Isabella. Those two even looked down on Natalie. They acted like royalty, thinking no one was good enough for them. Why would Isabella ever fit in with them?
“Alright, I’ll get someone to dig up info on the George family and let them know about Isabella’s marriage.”
“She wants to open a bookstore and a café. Maybe she’ll make a little pocket change, but getting rich? Forget it. If business is bad, she’ll just end up closing.”
“Running a business isn’t easy. Not everyone can pull it off.”
Natalie thought it over and realized Jordan was probably right, so she let the topic drop.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
