Susan didn’t even have to think before she said, “Honestly, with the way Isabella’s been lately, I doubt she’ll go out of her way to bring you soup. I get the feeling she cares less and less about you these days.”
She continued, “When Sophia brought her friends over, Isabella didn’t even look jealous. A woman gets jealous when she’s in love. No jealousy at all… Maybe that means she doesn’t love you anymore.”
Ethan hated hearing this. “It’s not that she’s stopped loving me,” he said quickly. “I just messed up recently and hurt her feelings. She’s giving me the cold shoulder right now, but once I apologize and make it up to her, things will be fine.”
Susan rolled her eyes in her mind. Sure, fine, until Natalie and Isabella fight again and Ethan hurts Isabella all over. It was like he didn’t see the cycle repeating, over and over, until Isabella’s heart couldn’t take it anymore.
She’d worked for the Adams family for years now and Ethan trusted her completely. She knew better than anyone that the person Ethan really cared about was Natalie.
But Natalie was married, and so was Ethan. If he was going to stay with Isabella, he needed to focus on her, not on someone else’s wife.
Still, Ethan kept making the same mistake, always because of Natalie, always hurting Isabella in the process.
“That’s all I have to say.”
Ethan didn’t want to drag out the conversation any longer, so he hung up.
Right after he set down his phone, someone knocked at the door. He straightened up and called out, “Come in.”
The door opened, and Jordan walked in.
Jordan was so familiar with Ethan’s office that he didn’t even need to wait for the secretary’s permission. He just came and went as he pleased.
“Busy, Ethan?” Jordan asked as he strolled in and dropped into the chair across from the desk.
“You and Natalie seem happy,” Ethan said, forcing a smile even though it stung.
Jordan smiled right back. “What about you and Isabella? Aren’t you happy?”
Ethan gave a small laugh. “Isabella and I are still figuring things out. You can know someone for twenty years, but being married is a whole different story.”
Jordan nodded. “That’s true. Natalie and I went through some rough patches right after the wedding, too. It gets easier once you work through it.”
Ethan switched topics. “You said last time that Natalie might be pregnant. Did you guys go to the hospital yet? Is it for real?”
Jordan’s face lit up. “We’re going in for a checkup the day after tomorrow. But honestly, I’m pretty sure she is. Ethan, I’m finally going to be a dad. Natalie and I are going to have a baby. It’s like the perfect symbol of our love.”

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
