She finished off his share too, so no wonder she was about to burst. Honestly, the girl could eat.
After rinsing out the lunch container, Isabella shook off the last drops of water and walked back over. “Should I leave the container here, or take it with me?”
“When are you coming home?” Ethan asked.
“I’m not sure. It might be late. Depends how busy I get.”
Ethan frowned. “I thought you said you had everything ready. What’s left to keep you so busy?”
She shot him a playful look. “You think I’m just working on one show? I have piles of scripts to read and endless meetings with writers. It’s nonstop.”
He snorted. “You talk like you’re even busier than a big-shot CEO. I’d like to see how much money you actually make from all this running around. Just don’t burn through your savings and come crying to me.”
Isabella grinned. “Relax. I’m not coming back in tears. If I run out, I’ll just come home and hug your leg, ask for money, then go right back to chasing my dreams.”
Ethan stared at her. She really did treat him like her own personal ATM.
In her head, Isabella thought, That’s pretty much your only use.
He cleared his throat and switched topics. “It’s been a while since you visited your mom. Don’t you miss her?”
“I’m not a little kid who needs her mom every day. She’s doing fine with the Lane family, I don’t have to worry. As long as she knows I’m happy, that’s all that matters.”
He smirked. “What, do you miss Natalie? Want me to set up a visit?”
Ethan thought about how he’d refused to work with the Lane Group. If he went to their house, Natalie would ask questions, and he hated turning her down. But he couldn’t back out now, not after signing with the Mason Group. Honestly, it was easier to avoid seeing her at all.
“No need. I’m swamped. I might have to go on a business trip soon.”
“Where to?”
“Easton City.”
She was a great cook. She just didn’t want to cook for him anymore.
That thought left Ethan feeling weirdly annoyed.
Isabella hesitated, then tried a new excuse. “We agreed to keep up the act around our families, and play the happy couple in public. Nobody said anything about me tagging along on business trips.”
“If I go with you, I have to put my own work on hold. Who’s going to pay for that?”
Ethan’s mouth twitched. He stared at her for a long moment, then took out his phone and sent her money.
“Check your account. I just sent your compensation.”
“Wow, you’re really something,” she teased. “Always my ATM.”
Isabella opened her phone and accepted the transfer with a grin. “That’s just how we work. You’re the ATM, and I’m the one cashing out.”

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
