Was Isabella talking trash about him behind his back? Ethan couldn’t help but wonder as he fished his phone out of his pocket. He was about to call her when her message popped up on his screen first.
She wrote, “Ethan, I threw you under the bus. If your family asks, just go along with it, okay?”
Ethan stared at her message, totally confused. Thrown under the bus for what?
He quickly texted back, asking what she meant. He needed the details or he’d mess up the story.
Isabella replied almost instantly. “I told your mom you’re clueless about sex and, well, not exactly capable. She kept bugging me to have kids, so I had to say you have... issues. Basically, I told her I’ve been living like a widow.”
Ethan’s jaw dropped. “You’re the one with issues! Your whole family has issues!” he muttered under his breath. He was perfectly fine. Well, he’d never actually tried, so how would he know for sure? But he was healthy, so he had to be fine.
The driver glanced at him in the mirror and asked, “Everything okay, Mr. Adams?”
Ethan took a few deep breaths and shook his head. “It’s nothing. Just keep driving.”
He fired off another message to Isabella, telling her she shouldn’t have used something like that as an excuse. It was a hit to his pride.
Isabella sent back, “What’s done is done. Just go with it. This way we can keep sleeping in separate rooms and your family won’t keep pestering us for a baby.”
Ethan was fuming. Sure, she didn’t have to deal with the pressure anymore, but now he was in trouble. He could already imagine his dad and uncles giving him weird books or videos to ‘help,’ or even dragging him to doctor after doctor and forcing him to take medicine. And he hated taking medicine more than anything.
Still, Isabella’s plan worked. Jennifer stopped bugging her and moved back to the Adams Estate that same day.
Isabella finally felt like she could breathe. She could focus on work and making money without any distractions.
Two peaceful days passed, then it was the first day of filming.
“Yeah. What’s up?”
Ethan motioned for his bodyguards to leave. Once it was just the two of them and nobody could overhear, he said quietly, “Natalie’s definitely pregnant.”
Isabella just nodded. “We already guessed she was. So now it’s official.” She looked at him, her face calm. “Are you upset? Or are you dying to go congratulate her?”
“I’ll go in a few days. I’m busy right now, you can see the show just started filming and I have to stay with the crew.”
Isabella assumed Ethan wanted her to go back to her parents’ place, so he’d have an excuse to visit Natalie.
Ethan didn’t say anything else. His face was a mix of frustration, pain, and something that looked a lot like heartbreak.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
