“Can’t you just come down and get me?”
“Are your legs broken? If they are and you can’t walk, I’ll come get you.”
Ethan hung up right away.
“So childish,” Isabella muttered, then went back to her script.
A couple of minutes later, Ethan showed up at her door, his face tight with annoyance. Isabella looked up and the first thing she noticed was the bouquet in his arms.
Oh. So that’s why he wanted her to come downstairs. He’d brought her flowers and wanted her to make a big deal out of it, maybe show off a little, make things look romantic.
“What wind blew you here, Ethan?” Isabella got up from behind her desk and walked over.
“Am I not allowed to stop by?”
“Of course you can. Your legs work just fine. But aren’t you busy? You always say I’m never home, but you’re just as bad.” She took the flowers from his arms like it was the most natural thing, studied them, and gave her verdict. “Your taste isn’t great. These aren’t as pretty as the ones I gave you last time.”
“You didn’t give them to me. I didn’t accept them. You took them back to your room to enjoy yourself,” Ethan pointed out.
“They were for you, whether you took them or not. It’s the thought that counts. I paid for them, I wasn’t about to throw them away. They looked nice in my vase anyway.”
Ethan held out two boxes of desserts.
“I know you like sweets, so I swung by The Cabinda Hotel and picked these up for you.”
Isabella took the boxes, went back to her desk, set the flowers down, and sat. She opened one of the dessert boxes, but before she could take a bite, she paused.
She looked up at him and asked, “Ethan, you show up out of nowhere with flowers and desserts. Come on, nobody does that for no reason. What do you want from me?”
Ethan glanced around her tiny office, then pulled out a chair and sat across from her.
Leaning back in her black swivel chair, Isabella spun from side to side. “Come on, just tell me. What do you want?”
Ethan’s time was worth a fortune, and he was always busy. There was no way he just dropped by for nothing, especially not with gifts.
“It’s nothing. I just haven’t seen you in a week and wanted to check in.”
“Oh, so you missed me? Or did you finally fall for me?” Isabella teased.
Ethan said nothing.
Suddenly, remembering Natalie’s call, Isabella squinted at him. “Let me guess, did your precious Natalie call you and tattle on me?”
“No, Natalie didn’t call me.” Ethan shook his head. “Why would she complain about you? What did you do?”
“I’m on set every day, and I barely get home before midnight. What could I possibly do to her?” Isabella’s answer left Ethan speechless.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
