“No way. Of course not. He doesn’t love me, so why would he even touch me?” Isabella shook her head. “Honestly, you’ve read so many romance novels you’re starting to see things.”
Laura grinned. “I just thought maybe he’d finally realized how great you are. Maybe he was ready to move on from Natalie.”
Isabella let out a quiet laugh. “He’s loved her for over ten years. Feelings like that don’t just vanish. I’m not expecting some fairytale ending here. What I told you before is true. I’m just using his resources to get ahead. Once I’ve got my own money, I’ll ask for a divorce. No way I’m staying in some cold, loveless marriage forever.”
Laura nodded, seeing her point. Ethan had always been hopelessly devoted to Natalie. There was no way he’d just fall for Isabella in a few months. “So, if you do get divorced, would you ever get married again?” she asked, reaching for the pizza box.
Isabella grabbed a slice and smiled. “Why would I? By then I’ll have my own place, my own money, a career. I’ll be living my best life, doing whatever I want. Sounds pretty perfect to me.”
Laura laughed. “Honestly, it does sound amazing.”
As they settled in, Laura suddenly remembered something. “Oh, that reminds me. Natalie stopped by our new shop right before lunch.”
Laura grew more serious. “Honestly, you should stay away from the Lane house. They’ve never treated you right. If you want to see Cynthia, just meet up somewhere else. You both have your own places, you can hang out wherever you want. And honestly, the thirty thousand a month Ethan gives you is not enough for all the risk you’re taking, especially with so many women after him.”
Isabella rolled her eyes. “You think it’s not enough? His mom and sister think it’s way too much. They keep telling him to cut back my allowance.”
Laura sighed and shook her head. “Being a rich guy’s wife is seriously overrated.” She glanced down at her pizza and smiled wryly. Turning down Jesse had definitely been the right call. She wasn’t cut out for that world. A simple life with someone on her level was more than enough.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
