Jennifer always had a soft spot for Mia. Bella had married into a wealthy family too, and her daughter, Mia Clark, was just two years younger than Ethan. They didn’t grow up together, but they met once or twice every year. In Jennifer’s eyes, Mia was the perfect daughter-in-law.
“This weekend, don’t go anywhere. Stay home and wait for us. Your dad and I are bringing the doctor over.” Jennifer’s tone left no room for argument, ignoring Ethan’s protests completely.
“Or you could come back home, to The Adams Estate. It’s safer here, and there’s no chance of any gossip. If we do it at your place, I’m worried Isabella will hear about it and spread rumors.”
“Mom, I’ve told you, I’m not sick. I don’t need a doctor.”
“If you’re not sick, why have you and Isabella been married for more than two months and you’re still just roommates? You chased her so hard before the wedding, and even though we tried to stop you, you insisted on marrying her.”
“If your relationship was that strong, it’s just not normal to still be in a marriage in name only. Unless something’s wrong with you.”
“Ethan, if you’re sick, you should get treated. Don’t be afraid of seeing the doctor.” Jennifer’s voice wobbled as she spoke. “You’re my son. I just want what’s best for you. If you really are sick… I couldn’t stand it. I haven’t told your grandma because I know she wouldn’t be able to handle it.”
She had only confided in Walter, her husband, and asked him to find a good men’s health specialist for Ethan. Walter even tried asking Ethan’s friends, but Harold and the others didn’t know anything.
Of course they didn’t. Ethan wasn’t gay, so why would his friends know about his sex life?
“If you don’t agree to see the doctor, Ethan, I’ll show up in your office and cry every single day.”
Ethan fell silent. He knew his parents were just worried. Still, he blamed Isabella for making everyone think there was something wrong with him.
“Alright, Mom. I’ll be home Friday night, but I might not get there until really late.”
“Okay, I’ll have your dad tell the doctor to come Friday night. He can check you then. If it’s late, that’s even better. Fewer people will find out.”
When the workers left, Isabella looked around the apartment. It didn’t feel empty anymore. Everything was just how she liked it. For the first time, it felt like home, with no trace of Natalie anywhere. This was her place, her house, her own space.
“Isabella, dinner’s ready.”
“Dinner?”
Ethan stood in the kitchen doorway. “I finished cooking. Come wash your hands and try what I made for you.”
He had set aside his pride and cooked for her. He hoped she’d find that sweet, maybe even feel a little touched.
Isabella walked over.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
