After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 327

Her parents had given her a stunning set of wedding gifts, enough jewelry to wear something different every single day. She loved the styles and brands of the pieces Ethan had picked out for Isabella, so she mentioned it to Jordan. He just shrugged and told her to keep them if she wanted. So she did.

Ethan never said a word about it. Isabella definitely wasn’t going to bring it up either.

When she put on the jewelry today, Natalie hadn’t even remembered they were gifts from Ethan. It was only when he brought it up that she realized.

“Isabella’s always been grateful,” Natalie explained, her voice steady. “She told me she grew up with the Lane family. Jackson may not be her real dad, but he raised her. She said she couldn’t ever repay him, so she wanted to leave the wedding gifts you sent, as a way to thank the Lane family for everything they did.”

“Cynthia’s older now and doesn’t wear jewelry like this anymore. She gave everything to me. I have so much that I honestly forgot these pieces were the ones you’d picked out for Isabella.”

Ethan pressed his lips together and stayed silent.

Natalie had known him since they were kids. She could read his mood in a second, and when she saw the line of his mouth, she knew he wasn’t happy. Without hesitating, she unclasped her necklace and took off her earrings.

“Ethan, if you don’t want me wearing these, I’ll take them off. I’ll get them cleaned and give them back to Isabella.”

Ethan didn’t reach for them. “No need. You can keep them.” He’d just buy Isabella something new.

Keith once told him there were only a few things girls really loved. Flowers, jewelry, designer handbags, skincare. If he ever had no clue what to give Isabella, he could just give her money and let her pick what she liked.

Natalie didn’t say anything.

They went inside and found Jordan sitting at the dining table, two empty bottles in front of him, pouring himself another drink.

Ethan strode over and took the glass right out of his hand.

Jordan looked up, eyes red. “Ethan, you’re here. What, you came to watch me fall apart?”

“That’s right, I came to watch you make a fool of yourself,” Ethan snapped. “Jordan, look at you. Your dad cheated. That’s the truth. You need to deal with it.”
