Frank tried to hold back his laughter but couldn’t resist. After a few chuckles, he leaned in, eyes full of mischief. “You’re not getting any younger, you know. Jeremy’s my age, just a few months younger, and you’re a year behind me. So what does that make you now, twenty-nine?”
Frank’s guard shot up. “Ethan, I’m only twenty-eight.”
Ethan just shrugged, undeterred. “Either way, you’re at the age where you should be thinking about settling down. If there’s someone you like, go for it. I want to see your moves, show me how you win a girl over.”
Frank blinked, almost laughing in disbelief. “Wait, are you saying you want to watch us chase after girls so you can pick up some tips? Come on, Ethan, you were a legend when you went after Isabella. If anything, we should be learning from you.”
Ethan fell quiet. The silence stretched between them, heavy and loaded.
It was true. Back then, Ethan had thrown himself into winning Isabella’s heart. He did everything—flowers, thoughtful gifts, nice dinners, always looking out for her, showing up whenever she needed help. He put his whole heart into it.
Frank hesitated, then asked softly, “Ethan, do you love Isabella?” He didn’t wait for an answer. “Look, you went against your whole family to marry her. You threw this massive wedding. If you’re going to do all that, then be a real husband to her. Love her the way she deserves. You need to stop thinking about Natalie. She’s married to Jordan now. She’s your friend’s wife.”
He gave Ethan a pointed look. “She’s never going to love you. If she was going to, it would’ve happened already. You two grew up together. She doesn’t have those feelings for you. No matter how much you do for her behind the scenes, she won’t notice, and she won’t give anything back.”
Ethan looked stunned. “You think I’m that bad?”
Frank didn’t hold back. “Aren’t you? Sure, you’re loyal to Natalie. To her, you’re the picture of devotion. But to Isabella? You’re hurting her, Ethan. Your loyalty to one woman shouldn’t come at the expense of another. No one’s stopping you from loving Natalie, but you shouldn’t have pulled an innocent woman into this. You gave Isabella a title, a nice life, but is that really what she wants? Do you really think that makes up for everything else?”
Ethan had nothing to say. He just sat there, weighed down by the truth.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
