After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 347

"Cynthia, it's me."

Cynthia rolled her eyes, thinking, What does he want now? And at this hour?

"Cynthia, are you really not going to let me in?"

With a sigh, she walked over and opened the front door, letting Jackson into the villa.

Inside, the house was quiet. Zachary had gone out to buy groceries, so it was just the two of them.

Jackson made himself comfortable on the sofa. "Cynthia, I haven't had breakfast yet. I'm used to having you make it for me."

Her voice was cold. "Didn't Ms. Dale cook for you?"

Of course she knew he hadn't been home lately. She knew about the affair. There was no point pretending anymore. He could be with his mistress openly now. He could spend the night at her place if he wanted.

Jackson was quiet for a long time before he finally spoke. "Cynthia, I still have feelings for you. We're both getting older. In a few years, we'll be grandparents. Why talk about divorce now? Can't we just stay together?"

He hesitated, then said, "I know it was my fault. I lost control. I did something I shouldn't have. But I was drunk that night, and she got pregnant. I had to support her and the child, give them a stable life. But whatever she has, you have too. I treat you both the same. You're my wife. You can be with me openly. She's the one who has to hide in the shadows. Cynthia, I still choose you."

Cynthia cursed him in her heart over and over. Twenty years of marriage, and she never realized how shameless he could be. She couldn't believe he was actually saying all this out loud.

She forced herself to stay calm. Don't get angry, don't fight with him. She needed him to feel guilty. That was the only way to get what she deserved and finally walk away from him.
